Enjoy porpoise, sea turtles, gulls, herons, pelicans and other wildlife that inhabit the 350,000-acre ACE Basin National Estuarine Research of which Harbor Island is a part of. And if you do want to get out for a while you can. Great seafood restaurants and delicious local cuisine is just minutes away by car. Enjoy local artists and view their works at the many galleries in the area. Sightseeing, shopping and daytrips will also fill the day. Fish the surf or the Hunting Island fishing pier or charter one of the area's local captains and head to sea. Bring your clubs and play one of the many great courses you've all heard about in the area. Comb the beaches, go shrimping or crabbing, go birding, visit the lighthouse next door at Hunting Island State Park. Savannah and Charleston make great day trip destinations. Remember to stop at Publix or one of the other food stores in Beaufort before heading out to the island to stock up on groceries.

We had a wonderful time! This was our vacation and trying to find somewhere to getaway from the "Myrtle Beach Hustle" is sometimes hard. Well this place is perfect! My boys, 13 & 10, loved it. They fished daily and caught several harmless sand sharks, spotted trout, etc. My husband and I relaxed and read by the pool. The condo is well equipped with everything we needed. Nearby restaurants fit our every need. We will be coming by soon!
