Outstanding Vacation

My family has been coming here for the past five years and will keep coming! This is an outstanding beach house! The owners make sure that everything you need is there, from the simple toiletries to the gas grill in the backyard. There are beach towels, chairs and boogie boards as well as plenty of puzzles, books, and games to play if the weather keeps you from going out. The house is immaculately clean and the yard is beautifully maintained both front and back. The flowers in the back of the house really make it feel like a home. There is a private beach only a few minutes walk from the house. The beach is saltwater and very quiet compared to the local beaches. There are plenty of attractions within a short drive. There are 3 state beaches all within 15-20min drives. Foxwoods Casino, Mystic Aquarium, and Mystic Seaport are located about 45min away in Connecticut. There is the Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox baseball team (Minor league for the Boston Red sox) not too far away in Pawtucket, RI, and the tickets are very reasonably priced compared to the big club. There is the village of Point Judith and Galilee about 15min away. In Galilee there are some of the best seafood restaurants, souvenir shops, as well as the Block Island Ferry. There are two ferries that will get you to the island the normal, less expensive one, will have you arriving in about an hour, the other more expensive will get you there in 30min. The Island is a stunning sight of small shops, picturesque lighthouses and pristine beaches. This is one of my favorite destinations. The clear sparkling blue water on the beaches is gorgeous and the waves are phenomenal, perfect for a family day trip. You are also minutes away from historic Newport, RI. There you can shop, dine, or visit the spectacular Newport mansions. There is also a Cliff Walk trail that many people walk along. This trail goes past many mansions and provides a gorgeous view of the Atlantic Ocean. There are a few restaurants that I recommend while staying here; the first is a fantastic pizza place, Boston Neck Pizza, in my opinion the best pizza in town. The second is a true taste of RI, Iggy’s in Narragansett, this restaurant has excellent clamcakes and Chowder (pronounced Chowda if you are a local), be prepared to wait however for excellence. My family is always happy with our trip, the owners, and the house and will keep coming here for many years to come!
