This is a 2006 renovated Empire home. This small home is clean and comfortable with all hardwood floors. The home will provide a quiet getaway in one of Michigan's gems. Located just North of the Downtown Empire area, you are far enough off the beat and track to enjoy a quiet evening and close enough to enjoy a day at the beach, dunes or any of the areas many attractions.

A city park is located nearby, offering baseball diamonds, tennis and basketball courts. The Empire beach has both a small inland lake for younger swimmers, with a playground closeby and of course, Lake Michigan for the more experienced swimmer. The Public beach has had an extensive remodeling with new restroom facilities, basketball courts and playground equipment in the summer 2007 season. A public boat launch is available for both S. Bar Lake and Lake Michigan.

Downtown Empire offers shopping, dining, antiquing, museums and Ice Cream Parlors. On your way to nearby Glen Arbor, for their many shops and dining spots, drive through the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park to experience the breathtaking views from the Pierce Stocking Drive and lookout. Or, Try one of the many dune climbs.

The fall colors are some of the most beatiful available in the state and the golf and fishing are incredible.

Saturday to Saturday rentals. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BED LINENS AND BATH TOWELS. If you would like us to supply bed linens, please inquire as there may be additional charges.

Recently added, Dish washer and garbage disposal in the kitchen and washer and dryer in the basement. Wifi is provided in the summer season too. Contact us for the key when making your reservation. Basement improvements that have been completed in 2010-2011 are new daylight windows, a 3rd bedroom, flooring and painting.

Our family's stay at the "Sleeping Bear Dunes Get Away" could not have been more enjoyable. We used the house as a home base for many day trips in the Traverse Area. The house was neat, comfortable, cozy and very well stocked. At the end of the day, when we were all tired from the day's activities, it was wonderful to have a "home" to come back to. There are grocery stores very close by if you like to cook and plenty of restaurants if you prefer to take the night off. We did a little of both, but mostly prepared meals at home. You will find everything you need in the kitchen! One evening we went to the beach after dinner (conveniently located within walking distance from the house) made a fire along the beach and roasted smores while watching the sun set. It truly was "that" kind of vacation! Needless to say, we had a great time! Our thanks to John for keeping his house like a home for wandering travelers!

Best Kept Secret on Lake Michigan

This was a charming,convenient home within walking distance to Lake Michigan and the shops in Empire, Michingan. It is well maintained, attractive and well equipped; supplies and cooking utensils were plentiful. A light and airy space with nice balconies in a quiet neighborhood- wonderful retreat for retired or hard working souls. It is close to Gwen Frostic gallery, shops of Glen Arbor, and Traverse City.

Loved having the available fans...created a wonderful air flow!
Loved the fully stocked kitchen pots/pans/utensils! Made cooking and eating in so much easier. With a year old, eating in is easier so we really appreciated the usefulness of a kitchen and a washer/dryer
Everything was very clean, easy to use, and nicely updated. We had an extremely comfortable stay.
So close to everything!
Owners were very easy to get a hold of and great to deal with!

This rental is clean, spacious and very comfortable. We are five minutes away from the inland lakes as well as Lake Michigan. We also enjoyed nearby access to the Dune Climb and Glen Arbor. Empire's sunsets are memorable. This is a wonderful place and a great escape. We really liked having the new amenities like the washer/dryer, wifi and dishwasher. We plan to return.

Great place to stay!

We've stayed at this house for three summers in a row. It's a cozy, quaint and comfortable house located within walking distance of downtown Empire. It's immaculate and stocked with everything you need for a family vacation. Also includes a nice deck and backyard, and there are sidewalks for riding bikes into town. Good value, too! The owners are really easy to work with and very accommodating.
