This new, authentic custom log lodge was completed Jan 2005. Built on 5 secluded acres that border the Shenandoah National Forest, Hensley Hollow Lodge is 4921 sq. ft. of luxury living area w 700 SQ ft of walk-out decking. Nestled on the side of a mountain overlooking the Shenandoah Valley, the home offers incredible, unobstructed views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The unique, tastefully decorated, floor plan features 4 mountain-view walk-out bedrooms w private decks, a spiral staircase to 1300 sq. ft. of loft area with 8 twin beds and a futon. Hensley Hollow Lodge is visible from the Hensley Hollow Overlook on Skyline Drive. Our very secluded location offers rustic solitude and park-like surroundings, with easy access to traditional seasonal activities such as Massanutten Ski Resort and Year Round Indoor Waterpark, the Shenandoah river, & the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hiking and mountain biking: The lodge is located on 6 secluded acres with a 2 mile private gravel road which circles through Hensley Hollow and offers real adventure into nature for hiking or biking. The lodge is only 5 miles from Skyline Drive & the Blue Ridge Parkway which offers Virginia's best hiking, camping, and sight seeing. The lodge is 2 hours from Washington D.C. and 1-1/2 hours from Monticello and other historic sites. Massanutten Ski Resort is only 20 miles away, and offers snow sports, inside pools, golf, a spa with massage, and a 100,000 SQ FT inside water park . Massanutten River Adventures.com offers river trips, artificial rock wall climbing, tours to Washington D.C. and local Wineries as well as the Charleston Races & Casino. The Shenandoah River is 5 miles away and has free public boat ramps every few miles. It is excellent for picnicking, bass fishing, canoeing, tubing and kayaking.     9+ Occupancy:
    Inquire w Owner. Add $20.00 per person per night for entire length of reservation for quantities of persons greater than 8.

    Holiday rates: Add 20% to daily or 10% to weekly rate. Christmas add $700.00/week

    Pets: $35.00 per day or $120.00 per week per pet

    PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
    Reservations will be booked & guaranteed after receiving 1/2 of the rental amount. The second half, plus the $300.00 deposit is due 2 weeks prior to occupancy. Please mail a certified or cashiers check if less than 2 weeks before occupancy. $500 deposit for groups larger than 18.

    Loft = 3 connected areas with 4 twin beds on West end, 1 full futon on North end & 4 twin beds on East end.
    Main Floor= (handicap ramp avail) 3 bedrooms, Master w queen bed & private jacuzzi bath & private deck, 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, & private deck, 3rd bedroom has a full bed
    Lower Floor: (can drive up to decks & doors) 3 bedrooms, Master w jacuzzi bath and queen bed & private deck. 2nd bedroom has a queen bed & private deck, 3rd bedroom has a twin bed (& 2 porta cribs).
    Gameroom has a full sleep sofa.
    Several inflatable mattresses are available

Dining: A variety of gourmet city dining and casual fare is minutes away, but our kitchen is exceptionally appointed to accommodate 'visiting cooks.' 24 spices and some condiments are provided. The Jennaire gas grill is stainless steel and is supplied by a 300 gallon gas tank. Secluded: Four wheel drive/front wheel drive is strongly recommended in winter - the picturesque surroundings will be worth the adventurous climb. If you have ever been curious about building a log home, have an appreciation for the uniqueness of 'log home living,' or would just like to make your get-away or reunion more memorable by experiencing nature more fully, check out this awesome NEW property! The 7 bedrooms include 6 locked bedrooms and 3 large semi private loft sleeping areas. The bottom floor includes a 600 sq ft game room with an 8' pool table and (3) full size pinball machines and board games. Christmas vacation

We enjoyed our week-long stay very much. The house has everything you need and is very livable. The road up is steep but accessible and there are many activities in the area to keep everyone occupied. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place for our family reunion. We loved the view, talking and singing around the fire pit at night. The night stars are the most beautiful I have ever seen. Lots of things to do for people of all ages (we were 83 to 2 years) and all interests. Loved it!!
