Beach lovers will appreciate being able to walk just 5 steps out the front door onto private Moody Beach. There's a great view from everywhere in the house! From the ocean side one can watch the sunrise over the Atlantic, or relax on the back deck and look over Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge. The spacious glassed-in sun porch allows one to enjoy the beach rain or shine. Two big bedrooms on the second floor feature full-size picture windows overlooking the beach and ocean. A third bedroom views the tidal river in the preserve. All bedrooms have sinks and television. Two full baths are on the second floor and a half bath on the first floor. The kitchen is fully equipped. A dining room, living room, two sun porches and lots of room are all part of the charms of this stately seaside home.

Enjoy beach walking, tide pooling and bird watching. Kayak, surfboard and bike rentals are close by. Kayaking can be done in the ocean, or in the tidal river in the Rachel Carson Refuge. There is excellent striped bass fishing right from shore, or on a charter boat. Be lulled to sleep by the gentle sound of the waves breaking right outside your bedroom window. See a play at the Ogunquit Play House, just two miles away. Ogunquit also provides great shopping, restaurants and a beautiful view of the coast while walking the Marginal Way.

Rain couldn't damper the fun!

It was a very rainy week, but this house - Literally on the beach - was fantastic. Each room that faced the ocean had a huge window from which you could watch the huge waves. Because the beach was just down a flight of stairs we were on it everyday in spite of the rain...how could you not? Jennie was great too: very friendly and accommodating but not at all intrusive. I cannot reccomend this place enough.

Feels Like Home

My mother and sisters and I have come to house every year for a few years. It is as lovely as Maine gets. The owner's grandfather built the house and you can tell, a lot of love went into it. It's a very maine-y house, if you know what I mean. Even though the owner lives below, we don't feel at all intruded on. I feel honored that she lets us rent the place. Right on the beach, great bedrooms, kitchen, sitting areas, there are NO cons Except going home. I now even rent it the following week to be with my husband and family. It is perfect.

Wonderful, beautiful, the best

A beautiful, well-kept home right on the beach. Spacious and very clean with gorgeous views from all rooms. This is the perfect place for my sister and I to relax and get in all the beach time we could possibly want. The large kitchen and dining room makes it easy to prepare meals when we want but because it is located conveniently between Ogunquit and Kennebunkport it is also easy to go out for dinner. The comfortable sun porch overlooking the ocean is perfect for morning coffee and reading on rainy days.

The owner, Jenny, is a warm, loving hostess who graciously shares this home that was built by her grandfather and she obviously loves the house and what she does.

I love this vacation spot and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing beach vacation in a lovely, well-appointed house that is close to restaurants, antique shops and other attractions.

Disappointed with customer service

The pros: clean large house, gorgeous waterfront windows, directly on beach, beautifully situated between Wells and Ogunquit.

Disadvantages: Owner lives in basement and will cross your terrace and sit on your beach while you are there. She sometimes has visitors with her. You will not feel welcome to invite additional guests to your cottage during the afternoon because the max 6 does not just pertain to house at night but also to usage of beach and property during the day. Departure day, after leaving the house spotless was unable to sit on beach from 10:30-noon. You must vacate even the exterior of property at exactly 10:30am. Host could have been far more gracious but instead appeared to be maximizing her business opportunities.

Seaside home on Moody Beach...EXCELLENT!!!

This was probably one of the most relaxing vacations I think we've ever had which was exactly our goal. In spite of a couple of days of rain it was still wonderful...great for book reading. The house is VERY homey, super clean, comfortable, very quiet area, private beach, and the ocean views are incredible. Falling asleep to the roar of the ocean was a new experience for us and we loved it. Jenny, the owner, couldn't be nicer. We ate out very little and having the convenience of a full kitchen was perfect...we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner by the ocean every day. In addition to other conveniences like large counter/sink areas in each bedroom, 3 bathrooms, tons of closet space, drawer space, large bedrooms with amazing ocean views, deck for hanging out and grilling, great water pressure too and you're very close to all the shops/restaurants in Ogunquit/Wells, Kennebunkport, etc. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in this property and we hope to be back!
