Log Cabin in Peaceful Wildlife Setting

This cabin is EXACTLY as advertised. You need not bring anything with you but your toothbrush and a love of the quiet solitude that you are going to find here. What an absolute gem!! Just returned from a weekend with two other couples. There was nothing we needed that wasn't provided. This is truth in advertising at its very best. You cannot go wrong with this rental. We will absolutely rent this cabin again. Had so much fun on the property, we didn't even get as far as the pool or the other amenities!! We saw some deer, and even got paid a visit by a racoon. And a bonfire on a cool fall evening was just the ticket!
The cabin itself, in addition to being well-stocked, was very clean. The rental process was smooth as well. I will definitely reccommend this to anyone looking for a northern Michigan getaway. We no longer need to drive 5 hours north to get that great Northern Michigan feel!!

I am so pleased with the cabin rental, and could not get over the cleanliness. My husband and I stay in a lot of hotels, and this was better maintained than many. I could not get over all the amenities, that I would have never guessed would be available. From laundry detergent, to shampoo....to binoculars and games. We were able to make meals without a problem, and there were videos for the kids to watch. Additionally, the carpets/mats were all clean and didn't appear/feel overly used....and the bath towels were thick and plush, unlike the flat and old ones we've found in other rentals. The layout was nice, allowing for my family to stay upstairs, and the other family to stay on the main floor, so we all had our privacy. The owner was extremely helpful from beginning to end, providing detailed information, and answering any questions within a few hours. She was accomodating the entire time, and my husband said she was a very pleasant person to talk to as well. The community pool was great for the kids, and even the clubhouse had a lot of space to use (not that we used it). The town doesn't have a lot of restaurant choices, and after eating at one of the local places, I'd highly recommend bringing your own groceries and cooking at the cabin....it's cleaner, more convenient and there are utensils, pots, pans and dishes.

All in all, I can't say anything but positive things regarding this cabin and the owner. The only thing I would suggest, is maybe a tv in the basement. Once the kids went to bed, we stayed in the basement and played cards. Unfortunately, the husbands are big football fans, and weren't able to watch the MSU or Lions game this particular weekend. I also wouldn't have minded watching a movie one night, but we didn't want to take the chance of waking the kids (light sleepers!).

The owner really thought of everything, when it came to this cabin rental. Even the detailed paperwork with helpful suggestions, recommendations and directions to local markets, and a checklist to make sure we left the cabin in good condition, was something I wouldn't have expected. The location was also great, and allowed for the kids to have plenty of space to run around, without being too close to the road, and the fire pit was conveniently located for easy viewing for those of us who chose to stay warm inside! And there were even toys in a sandbox, another nice surprise for the kids.

This was such an enjoyable stay - I will recommend it in a heartbeat!

Cindy was great to work with, the cabin was just perfect. Cindy has the cabin stocked with every single cooking utensil you could ever think of. It is clean and inviting and has plenty of room. If you are brining a little one be sure to bring two portable baby gates. There are stairs going to the master and stairs going to the basement. Cindy has some outlet covers already on but you may need to bring those as well. Also the chemical cabinet is under the sink, I tied a string around it and that kept my little one out of there. There is a knife drawer to the right of the refrigerator that I just moved the contents out of there to a higher place until we left. My family and I had such a wonderful time, we booked a weekend and didn’t want to leave.

We went grocery shopping for a family meal at Carrow’s. They had really good steaks but I would recommend Glenn’s for fresh veggies and such.

This was the first time renting a cabin. I have always been hesitant as you hear bad experiences from others. When I read the 31 reviews on Cindy's cabin I started to get worried it was somewhat fabricated as I didn't think it was possible to have so many happy visitors. However I too am happy to report everything everyone else said prior to me was spot on. Wonderful place, very happy to have had the chance to spend time up there. Nothing beats up north from the beautiful colors in the leaves to the crisp fresh smell of the clean air.
