- 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 2, Suitable for adults only

Tidal waterfront located on the New Meadows River approximately 3-4 miles north of the quaint fishing village of Cundy's Harbor. Quiet location with hammock and lounge and deck chairs. Newly furnished with nice ocean views. Located on a private road. Boat launch ramp for small boat (up to 20'). Close to Maine State Theater at Bowdoin College, BNAS, BIW, L.L Bean Freeport, Historic Bath District. Excellent area for kayaking, canoeing, sailboarding and sailing. Watch local fishermen unload their daily catch from the docks at Cundy's Harbor.

New for 2009--Wi-Fi available.

The house was designed and equipped for 2 adults.

Short term lease available: Off season short term lease rental available. Mid November to end of May

Wonderful place for a weekend away!

This was a fantastic home for two adults --- it was exactly as billed with a small but furnished kitchen, grill, living space and bedroom with amazing light, porch, and dock right on the river. Particularly wonderful was its location --- you could have lounged in the house all weekend and been quite comfortable just enjoying being away from it all. We chose to make it both a place for movies and reading AND use it as a home base for adventures to Brunswick, Bath, Lewiston and Popham Beach State Park. There is a country store about 10-15 minutes down the road and grocery store, Starbucks, movie theater, etc. about 20-25 minutes in case you have a rainy day or are looking to venture more into town. We couldn't get a wifi signal in the house, which wasn't a problem for us (perhaps a blessing?), but others may want to check with the owners if that is a priority. The only thing I would recommend is if you like to paddle, bring your own kayak or canoe or rent for the weekend. We were able to rent nearby and paddle for a couple hours but the option to paddle from right out your back door should not be missed!

Wonderful, Private Vacation Home on the Water

This is a beautiful vacation home--very clean and very well appointed, with all the comforts of home and lovely views. The owners are extremely gracious and helpful and are close by if you need anything. The house is located in a private, very quiet neighborhood and it’s right on the water. Great for relaxing, kayaking, canoeing, and birdwatching, with plenty of hiking trails nearby. Convenient to restaurants and shopping and scenic, quaint villages. We really loved that you can watch the tides come and go from the comfort of the living room or from the deck. We would absolutely love to stay there again.
Owner's Response: We were pleased to host this wonderful couple and their 2 dogs. They really respected the property, treated it as their own and left it as clean as they found it.

What luck that we found this hidden gem in the last days before July 4th weekend! It was such a luxury to wake up and see the water each morning.... the property was private and the waterfront was all ours! We would spend all day on the deck - sunning, napping, eating, relaxing!

The owners are a lovely couple and make sure to check in and see if things are ok!

Our only wish was for the wifi to reach inside the house... because one night my husband HAD to use the internet and mosquitos are the worst companions! :D

lovely long weekend in Maine

The property is quiet, relatively private, and very comfortable for 2. Property owners are gracious and relaxed. Having read the earlier reviews, we were prepared for the small shower and downstairs bedroom and those didn't bother us - the home is well-appointed, the setting is very nice and its conveniently located for Casco Bay explorations. A nice surprise was that we were there for the town of Bath's early shopping Saturday(first weekend in November) - 5 am openings for most shops, with coffee and treats and a generally festive mood. Maine is just such a wonderful placer - and we're glad to have found this new spot in it!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Great summer rental

We rented here for a week in July. The house is located directly on the New Meadows river. It is a one-bedroom with the top floor containing a small kitchen, a contemporary living space with windows facing the river and skylights. The downstairs is the bedroom with a large deck right on the water. The property sits nestled in trees and enjoys privacy. The owners are close-by and are very nice.

Overall this place is great: a very well-kept, serene, & picturesque place right on the water and still reasonably close to groceries, restaurants, etc. in Brunswick. I would highly recommend it. Only downside I would say is that the bathroom is a little small and has a shower as opposed to a tub. Assuming that is not a breaking point, I would highly recommend this rental for a couple.
