I spent years in this location in the 1970's with family. When I had my own girls, it was such a great get away and a place for my daughters to get a feel of life as it had been. To let them experience all of the wonderful opportunities Mutiny Bay has to offer, away from the city. It is still so charming and quaint. The beach is only steps away and the house is very special. The nearby town of Langley is lovely and is very 'artsy', right on the water also. GREAT shopping! We love the ferry ride and all of the activities nearby, especially the Lavender Farm!. You can rest quietly and listen to the waves and nature, or go to the bustling ferry dock that seems to duplicate the East coast, and just about anything in between! Stroll the quaint beach towns which have street fairs and festivals in the summer! Just out the door, we are able to pick berries, visit tide pools and just have family time. Spend a day on the North end of the Island in Oak Harbor visiting the Naval Base and Deception Pass. All of this, just a short distance from Seattle where you are able to relax and feel like your thousands of miles away!
When I visit the cottage on the water, it is so quiet and peaceful. I love the feel of the 'time, way back when' and how quaint the cabin is. The area is so reminiscent of life before computers, technology and the fast pace we have today. It's great to just enjoy the beachfront, wonderful sunsets, cruise ships tide pools, kayaking, berry picking, fireplace, fire pits, boathouse, close to town yet so far away (10 min.), shopping, nature, deer, lavender farms, and a step back in time!
Enjoy some of Whidbey's finest site-seeing including Whidbey Island Naval Station, Fort Casey, Deception Pass, Langley and FABULOUS SUNSETS FROM THE DECK.
