This year (Sept 2008) it was my turn to host the 21st annual sisters weekend getaway for my 4 sisters and I. The five of us have convened annually together in many geographical locations over the years, in some of the most delightful vacation rental homes. The owners of this home have provided an accurate description of the home with great photos on the web but I admittedly had some last minute reservations as we finally drove together from the airport to the house. Did I make the right choice? We were all immediately delighted by the warm welcoming ambience and cleanliness of the home. Lots of room for the 5 loving sisters to co-habit in comfort for 6 days! We spent evenings BBQ-ing and gathering at the dining table for meals together, then into the wee hours playing cards games, catching up, joking, laughing and creating many precious memories. The home's location on the Cape's "elbow" was perfect. We traveled in our SUV each day to visit and explore various towns, restaurants and beaches up one side then across the other, from Provincetown to Sandwich. Many attractions and activities are easily accommodated into day trips. Late September was cool but sunny, and the leaves were just turning color...very beautiful. Heavy summer crowds were gone by then. A fully equipped gym located 15 min away for those of us who are "work-out addicts". Pretty and relaxing leisure walks directly from the house. We loved the patio...spent many hours catching the warm sun there while enjoying our sister time together. We discovered that unique outdoor shower too! How perfect...hot water and all! Beautiful large and wooded yard added to our enjoyment of the outdoors. The owners were delightful to work with as I planned the trip, happy to provide answers to all of my questions and offered suggestions from grocery stores to gas stations to restaurants, and exciting, unique places to visit. If we ever decide to repeat a location for home base to future annual sisters getaways, this one is definitely on the list!
