Our quiet & light-filled one bedroom duplex is located on rue du Pelican between the Louvre & the Palais Royal. This apartment is on the 6th & 7th floors of a 17th century elevator building. The apartment has southern exposure. A lovely private terrace outside of your bedroom w/king-size bed (can be turned into 2 twins) on the 7th floor will give you a fabulous view of the rooftops of Paris & the Louvre just 150 meters away! Your private terrace will also enable you to enjoy meals outside. The 6th floor boasts an American-style kitchen complete with 2 burner stove, oven, toaster,microwave & coffeemaker. The spacious living room is complete with a sofabed, satellite TV, CD player/radio, & telephone as well as a dining table that seats 4. The bathroom has a tub with shower attachment. 50 square meters. WIFI, of course! Metro: Rivoli/Louvre.

Nearest Airport : Charles de Gaulle at 30 Miles

From this central location, it is a two minute walk to the Louvre or 5 minutes to the Palais-Royal, a ten minute walk to the Cathedral Notre-Dame and to the lovely church Sainte Chapelle, the Latin Quarter, the Rive gauche, Saint Germain des Pres (church, boulevard, cafes), the tres chic Place Vendome (Ritz Hotel, jewellers), the Musee d'Orsay.. In fifteen minutes you are at the Tuileries garden, the Place de la Concorde, the Hotel de Ville. On the 'RER B' from Charles de Gaulle airport, stop at 'Chatelet-Les Halles'. It is a ten minute walk to the apartment. From the metro stop at 'Louvre-Rivoli', it is a five minute walk. From the apartment, taking line one on the metro, you have easy access to the Champs-Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, the Bastille... Many bus lines go through the area. Metro: Palais Royal or Louvre/Rivoli.

Other Activities: We are so close to all the attractions you do not even have to use the Metro!

Great location and value, all the basics

We stayed here in September and were very well taken care of. My husband and I were traveling with our 2 year old daughter so we really appreciated that someone was at the building to let us in when we arrived and we were able to simply lock up and leave the apartment when we left (especially as we had to leave at 6 a.m.!)

The apartment has all the basics (kitchen items, wi-fi, etc.) and could not be better located.

Just a few things we didn't pay attention to but are worth noting:
- the bed is full size (one down from U.S. Queen and definitely not a U.S. King)
- while the building does have an elevator this apartment is up a spiral suitcase once you exit the elevator on the top floor. We had a lot of luggage so this was a bit of a challenge when we arrived and left.

I stayed there in late July '09. The location is great! Walking distance to everthing. At first we were concerned about the lack of AirConditioning on the top floor, but it was definitely not needed. The host was fantastic. The value was very good for Paris.

We had a great time in Paris, also thanks to the nice apartment that was comfortable and centrally situated near the Louvre and rue Montorgueil. We will come back and meanwhile will reccomend it to all our friends that want to visit Paris.

A terrific apartment in Central Paris

My wife and I and our two sons stayed in this apartment in January. We didn't use the balcony much as it was too cold but the apartment was perfect. Right in the centre of everything with many good restaurants and cafés around the area. Jean-Francois was very helpful and we had a wonderful time. The pictures don't really do it justice. I have recommended this apartment to several friends and, when we return to Paris we will probably try to get it again.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing

This is my favorite place to stay in all of Paris! The terrace provides such a wonderful atmosphere and the neighborhood is fabulous. The apartment is convenient to the Metro, museums and shopping. There is a fantastic bakery very nearby and numerous restaurants and cafes just a few steps away. I look forward to returning again and again!
