We recently had occassion to stay at heartworth cottage during the month of May. It was a week wonderfully spent. The cottage sits on a tidal cove of the Chesapeke Bay, near the town of Onancock. The town is within walking distance, and is a great place to walk and explore. Each morning we walked to the town, stopped in at the corner store, had a refreshing breakfast and explored. There is a pharmacy that is truly haunted. Many great restaurants, and sights to see. Don't miss the hardware store. We gourged on seafood, both in local restaurants and thanks to the owners, grilled shrimp, scallops, etc. in the grill on the cottage's magnificent deck. I can't begin to describe the relaxing atmosphere that is available to guests. You can just sit and watch the wildlife that is indigenous to the area. Many homes have boats docked and the scenery is magnificent. They keep a small paddle boat near the dock that is well woth launching. We ventured to Tangiers Island for Mother's Day dinner. Well worth the trip. See Captain Mark Crockett for details. The Delmarva penninsula is a great place to explore by car. So many neat small off the beaten path towns. You can even visit with the locals and chat on the Liar's Bench. If you enjoy a relaxing vacation, I strongly reccommend Heartsworth. You'll never forget it.
