Large Cozy Cabin on Mountainview Lake

Wonderful place, wonderful people, until checkout time. Told us our security check was in the mail. 3 weeks went by, emailed with no response, then called with no answer or response. 6 weeks went by, called again, still no answer but did get an email stating the check was returned to them and they needed to verify our address, so we did and 3 weeks later, again nothing. Sent email stating we believed they intended to dupe us, they responded saying no, no, no you were wonderful vacationers, very sorry about the mix up and putting check in the mail that day. 4 weeks went by this time, called, no answer, emailed, no response so emailed from different acct inquiring about a rental and received immediate response. We then sent certified letter, they never picked it up, we then sent a non registered letter along with certified letter asking for our security deposit. We received an email after that, again stating we were great renters and they ran into a large issue that cost them lots of money and again promised to mail out our deposit. Well, we stayed at there place last week in July of 2009, it is now May 2010, still no security deposit.

I would not EVER vacation back here again and we hope no one else has been duped by these people............

I rented one of the cabins for me and my kids for the whole 2008-2009 ski season. Couldn't have been happier. The other reviews are right on the mark...Ken and Nell are great...the cabins are simple, but well furnished and very clean and well kept. While the bedrooms are fairly small and only separated from the main living area with curtains, the main living area is pretty large. It was warm and cozy and was a pleasure to come back to after a day on the slopes.

This is our favorite vacation place. The owners rent out 3 houses on the property. Each one has all you need to enjoy a great, peaceful vacation. the private beach that the property shares is perfect for reading a book and swimming out to the dock. My family takes rafts and floaties and floats out to the other side of the lake. On the point you can build a fire at night and roast marshmellows. Nell and Ken and their family make you feel you are at home. Close by is downtown Sunapee for dinner or ice cream, or go to the 50's car hop and get served the best burgers and fries! This is not an on the go, vacation spot. It is relax, swim, sun and take in beautiful sunsets each night!
