The 'Quintana Lighthouse' offers the comforts of home and is just steps from the Gulf. Everything is provided to make your stay a pleasure including all linens, towels, dinnerware, cookware and a full kitchen is complete with microwave, toaster and coffee pot. The large deck includes a table, 8 chairs and grill, complete with charcoal. Two bedrooms, plus a futon provide room for 6 to sleep. The bath has a shower with full size tub. An outside shower is provided to rinse the sand off!

The Lighthouse is located directly across the street from the 'Neotropical Bird Sanctuary' which is known for thousands of sightings during fall and spring migration. The Quintana Beach County Park is just 3 blocks away and the County fishing pier is at your back door. Morrison Park offers some of the best fishing and crabbing. The mouth of the Brazo's river and the Jetty's are popular fishing area's and a great spot for watching ships and shrimp boats enter the canal.

Quintana Beach:

Named as Texas Monthy (June 2007) as one of the best beaches in Texas, ranking third! 500' to the beach, and you can choose the pedestrian beach within the Quintana Beach County Park, or a vehicular beach and drive to the mouth of the Brazo's River. Fishing is great whether off the pier, in the surf or on the jetty.

Birding in Quintana:

Located across the street is the Neotropical Bird Sanctuary. Known for its migratory sighting, Quintana is well known in the birding community. The addition of an observation tower add a breath taking view of the island. The Xeriscape Park, located across the street from the County Park, is under construction, but is open to viewing also.

Lighthouse Vacation

We had a great vacation in Quintana at the Lighthouse for the week. The owners are wonderful and the place was wonderful. The house was clean, stocked and the deck was wonderful. The beach was one block away and even our dog enjoyed the Lighthouse:) We hope to go back soon...
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Going back home!

I was born and raised in the Freeport-Quintana area and our parents retired and sold the family home and moved to East Texas. Renting the Lighthouse was like going home for my family and I, the pictures online doesn't do it justice, the home was very nice and well kept, and Mrs. Alonis is an excellent host. My family and enjoyed are stay very much as brief as it was, and look forward to visiting the Lighthouse again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

What a wonderful get a way for us! The "Other" house was everything we could imagine and more. The decor and furnishings were completely comfortable and made us feel right at home. There was nothing we could have needed as everything is there. Thank you for sharing this with us, and we will be making the trip again next year in early spring.

I stayed there last weekend and had a blast,My wife and myself were there with our best friends Julie/jaymie. What a nice place, hoping to return soon for another trip.I would recommend this to anyone, the house had everything that you could need,except an XRAY machine.We weren't there 2 hours already and I tripped on the jetty and fractured my hand.No fault except my own.Just another good story to be told about the vacation.I would give your place a 10 rating anytime.Can't wait until we return.

My daughter, granddaughter and myself stayed mid-August, 2008 and had a fantastic time. Wonderful place to stay, GREAT hosts. We really enjoyed watching for the different birds, listening to the owl, walking on the beach at night chasing the crabs. Hope to visit again soon!!!!
