PRIVATE ISLAND HOME WITH OCEAN AND SUNSET VIEWS

There is a large game closet upstairs with puzzles, games and toys for all ages, and a wide assortment of books for all ages. I have an extensive collecion of Art books in the house, it is my mother's life-long collection and includes over 200 books about many kinds of art. She has painted in watercolor for over 45 years and many of her paintings hang in the house as well.

Although you will see a woodstove in the pictures, the house is set up in the summer time for propane use instead. There is a very effective floor furnace that is available for renters that wish to have heat. Unfortunately, the wood stove gets disconnected.

I have a number of bird feeders around and feed the birds year round here on the property, so there is an active bird population that visit the yard every day..... I have a couple of adorable pair of Carolina wrens that sing atop the branches every day, and in the spring/summer the thrashers and mockingbirds are fun to listen to up here on top of the hill. Monhegan is a bird migratory stop off, so many species of birds visit the island in the spring and fall. So bring your binoculars!

When there is a 'sea' built up on the water, you can often times hear the surf crashing while sitting on the deck.... Lobster cove is not far from the house, and the surf there can be terrific.

There is always a lovely breeze that goes through the house if you leave windows or the two doors open - and very little problems with mosquitos or other bugs.
