Loire Valley : only 1hour from Paris, the land of great Chateaux, the 'garden ' of France, and the country of sweet French way of life ...
This property is different it's your chance to experience France at its best! This is a spectacular house set in grounds so beautiful they have been used over the years as a film set (the 2 houses and gardens). This is 'real' France with a chance to live in peaceful tranquil surroundings created with loving care by generations of the owner's family (8). In a 17th century property, the cottage 'Le Pot Vert,' which used to be the vineyard's house, is located in a residential peaceful wooden area in a 10,000 sqm ground with a wood, large yarns, old century trees, pool, kitchen garden, with its separate entrance and parking, from Le Cormier, the main house where live the owners Remi and Frederique.

When we arrived from our long journey we were happy to find our home to be beautiful, clean and also with groceries for dinner and breakfast the next morning. We travelled with our 3 young children and the last thing we wanted to think about was grocery shopping. The hosts were so helpful with all our needs; they went way above what was expected. Our children loved the beautiful grounds and swimming pool. We fondly think back at eating the fresh strawberries straight from the vines. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience in your beautiful country.
We had a fabulous stay at le pot vert, in the midst of a wonderful peaceful green haven at the doors of the fabulous UNESCO heritage vallee de la Loire. Coming from Australia, we were amazed by the generosity of our wonderful hosts Frederique and Remi. The pantry was full of delicious fare, there was also delicious bread and danishes from the best Baker in France. Nothing was too much for our hosts to make our stay a most memorable experience. Bess, the dog and Valentine the cat also befriended us. We miss le Pot Vert, its elegant charm and we cannot wait to be back. We recommend this wonderful place for an unforgettable holiday.
LPV exceeded our expectations even considering the excellent website description. The amenities, care and attention to detail here are exceptional and will suit the most discerning of clients. Highly recommended!
We hated to leave this wonderful place. When we returned from a days sight-seeing, we felt as though we returned home. It's hard to know what to mention first as all the amenities were beyond our expectations. It is a very unique and special place. We were able to pick our own strawberries and raspberry's that Dr. Remi grew in his special "hidden" garden. We gorged on pastries that were available nearby and followed many of Frederique's suggestions of where and how to go places and where to eat. The place is ideally located near an inexpensive tram that takes you into the lovely city of Orleans, about 20 minutes away. Also, from that city you could take a train into Paris in an hour. Soooo, it was the best of both worlds, City and country. There's nothing we can say that others haven't said before. It is a charming place to stay, especially for 2 couples or a couple with a few children. The owners two pets were sweet, dog, Bess and the adorable friendly cat who loved to sit on our laps (when invited)! We truly couldn't have asked for more and have already recommended the place to quite a few of our friends with the confidence that they will agree with our review of Pot Vert. The owners treated us like visiting well-loved relatives. They were there for our every need yet kept to themselves and respected our privacy. In all...we couldn't have asked for more.
Dido to all the other 5 star reviews here. Frederique is a great Host. As she said, she was there when we needed her and not there when we did not need her.
The house is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. It was very clean and comfortable. My ten-year-old daughter enjoyed the pool and the huge yard where she could practice her soccer skills. The kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of goodies, which showed the generosity of our hosts.
As for the location, it was perfect for our stay in Loire Valley. Close to many Chateauxs and to Paris as well. The bicycle ride from Blois to Chambord, despite my daughter's crash and getting lost on the way back was one our most memorable activities in the Loire Valley. I am an artisan baker. Frederique went out of her way to arrange a meeting with the famous local artisan baker Christophe Maureille. I found Mr. Maureille and his wife to be very sweet and down to earth people. Daily trips to Maison Maureille are a must! Also try La Parenthèse or Les Toques in Orleans for an excellent dinner.
I highly recommend ' Le Pot Vert ' for your Loire Valley vacation.

The name of Orleans is inseparably linked with that of Joan of Arc and there is evidence of her everywhere: in satues, her life history depicted in the cathedral's stained glass windows, the house where she stayed in 1429. The city, on the beautiful and wild River Loire, is also the centre of its own wine producing area and the town has more than enough to keep a visitor happy, in particular the old part, which has many fine buildings. Some of the greatest chateaux of the Loire are within reasonable driving distance and the cottage is ideally placed for a day in Paris or Versailles. Fontainebleau on the outskirts of Paris is only 85 kms. Chartres magnificent cathedral is 70 kms.
Other Activities: Many historic places to visit : the great Loire chateaux, etc
Golf: 8 golf courses in the area.
