Beautiful cottage with pool , LOIRE VALLEY close to ORLEANS .1 hour from Paris .

The property was better than we expected. The photos were not deceptive, and if anything did not do the property justice. The cottage is old and has great character. It was clean, well maintained, the appliances good, the amenities great. The pool and the cabana are very private and were great to relax around. The grounds and woods are expansive and very pretty with trees, shrubs, flowers, etc.
The owners - Remi and Frederique were fantastic. They answered all our questions about the Loire valley and gave us good advice about what to see and where to go. Their son Simon was also very pleasant and interesting to talk with, and also provided answers and advice.
The pets - Bess and Berry the dogs and Valentine the cat were also great to have around. We wanted to smuggle the cat home to Canada with us!
When you look at the site it mentions that various foods, jams, etc are provided. They were not kidding. They provided fresh croissants, baguettes, cold meats, fruit, cheese, juice, milk, canned food, pasta, coffee, tea, spices, sugar and so much more I simply could not believe it. Also several bottles of wine - all complimentary. I think we could have eaten for our whole week there just on what they provided. I commented on this to Frederique and she said their philosophy was that you should not have to run out and shop for everything the minute you arrive at a vacation rental. Very nice philosophy. They were simply the nicest people we met in over a month in France, and their property was beautiful.
I have already recommended Le Pot Vert to other friends and family.

The chateaus and smaller towns in the valley are beautiful and very pleasant to stroll around in during the evening. A car is necessary if you want to go see the sights, but if you want to just sit around in St Jean de Braye (Orleans) and relax, and enjoy the French lifestyle, Le pot Vert is a great place to be!
If we ever go back to France we will definitely stay here again.

"Le Pot Vert" is Frankrijk! Het huis, de tuin, het warme welkom door Frederique en Remi en bij aankomst een goed gevulde keuken met wijn, franse kaas, stokbrood en croissants en nog veel meer.
De omgeving nodigt je uit tot het bezoeken van de vele bezienswaardigheden en ook op sportief gebied is er van alles te beleven: fietsen langs de Loire, met de kanoe de Loire op etc. Maar het is ook heerlijk om bij de cottage te blijven en te genieten van het zwembad en de rust.
Al met al een toplocatie met voor ieder wat wils waarbij de eigenaren je, als je dat wilt, behulpzaam zijn met allerhande leuke tips en adresjes!

Our only problem with Le Pot Vert was that our weeks stay was not long enough!
We had a most wonderful time in the beautiful cottage that was so beyond our expectations of a holiday rental.
Not only was the place beautiful and comfortable but the attention to detail in so many things made our stay so relaxing and memorable. The cleanliness, the welcoming breads, croissants,fruit, wine and well stocked fridge and larder on our arrival made such a difference that we felt so at home the minute we stepped into the cottage.
The comfortable beds, crisp linens, towels and lots of hot water all the time were pure luxury.
The availability of DVDs and books for the children (ages 10 and 8) were a godsend especially on the mornings that the rain seemed it was never going to stop!
The pool and area was fantastic in spite of the weather my husband and children made good use of it - but it was just that bit too cold for me - so I made do with relaxing with a good book and glass of wine (merci Frederique and Remi) whilst keeping a watchful eye.
The dogs Berry and Bess and the cat Valentile were adorable and a big hit with us all especially the kids.
There was a great array of leaflets and books availalble in the cottage on local places of interest to visit and for the first few days we walked and used public transport to and from Orleans and St Jean de Braye. We also hired a car for a few days and explored the beautiful Loire valley.
Frederique, Remy and their son Simon were warm and welcoming hosts, who although available for any queries that we might have had, respected our privacy. We were able to amble about their tranquil garden and wood and not feel as if we were intruding.
It is a magical place. Well done Frederique and Remi for getting it so right.
