Annapolis House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This Annapolis area home provides a stunning 180-degree view of the South River, just off the Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis.

Just six miles from downtown Annapolis, the location of the house is incredible. It feels 'away from it all' but a quick drive takes you to the United States Naval Academy, shopping, restaurants, movies, the Annapolis Mall and other major conveniences. A 40-minute drive or Metro ride take you to Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. The house is located in a quaint, quiet neighborhood - perfect for evening strolls or morning walks.

You'll love the five-minute walk (or boat ride) to Mike's Restaurant and dining on steamed Chesapeake Bay blue crabs and drinking ice cold beer from the deck. The home is so peaceful and serene, you won't believe that it's just a quick jog from Route 50 and Baltimore/Washington International Airport.

The large entertainment deck overlooking the South River off the Chesapeake Bay is perfect for cookouts, relaxing with a good book, savoring your morning coffee or just gazing at the plentiful waterfowl. Stairs go down to your own private pier where you can swim, fish, crab and sunbathe. A boat lift is available, and there's plenty of room for others to dock on the pier. A community boat launch is also available.

The home is beautifully decorated with hardwood floors and open architecture. The fabulous view of the water can be seen from kitchen, dining room/living room, and the master bedroom.

This is a popular year-round vacation retreat so be sure to book early! This vacation rental is perfect for all Annapolis events, USNA events, class reunions, homecoming, Naval Academy football games and Washington Redskin or Baltimore Ravens football games, Annapolis boat shows, summer vacations, winter getaways and weddings. Studying for the bar or writing your thesis or novel? You can't find a better retreat.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just want to thank you for letting us rent your house in Maryland. It was a beautiful place. We really enjoyed staying there. It was great that you have the place well equipped with anything we might need during our stay. I also emjoyed the view overlooking the river, especially in the morning when the sun was coming up. It was amazing. If we are ever in need of a place to stay in Maryland again, I will sure give you a call.

Nice Visit!

  • 5 of 5

We shared this home with our friends from California. It was a great place to call "home" while we visited Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington DC. Our kids (all 5 of them) especially enjoyed fishing from the dock. We found the local tourguide information available in the home very useful. The reservation and check-in processes were simple to use and the owner was very responsive to questions we asked prior to our stay.

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure having you. I'm glad you found the check-in process easy-to-use, and I was happy to answer your questions along the way. Please keep us in mind for future visits to the area. As you discovered, it is a great "central location" for all of the wonderful destinations this area has to offer. Lynn

Absolutely perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend at this home! It was perfect for our family of 5 - including 3 teen/young adults. The house is beautiful, comfortable, well appointed with a gorgeous view of the South River from the living room & master bedroom. It is easily accessible to Annapolis and DC, although a car is a must. The location is serene and quiet - we slept so well! Our spring weather was temperate and a bit rainy but it didn't stop us from doing anything while we were there. We spent two days in DC and parked our car at an outlying metro station (both New Carrollton & Largo Towne Station have plenty of parking & were free on weekends). We used metro passes to make our way around the city. A third day we visited Annapolis, the Academy and ate at the nearby Mike's Restaurant & Crab House (a platter of crabs fed the whole family!) I highly recommend this home and look forward to visiting the area again!

Wonderful, Warm, Cozy Home-Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED the House- great location on the water and within 15 min drive of the Academy. Very warm, cozy house-open kitchen, living room, dining area was wonderful for our meal and social time together. The deck was the favorite for all of us but my parents, who came from Ohio to visit, especially loved the mornings-they ate breakfast out there every day. The weather was excellent so we were able to enjoy the deck every day we were there. We cooked all our meals there and the kitchen and grill were so great to have. Home is nicely decorate, bedrooms comfortable and roomy and best word to describe is "felt like home" and that is such a compliment when you travel. Our plebe loved being at the house with us during the day and eating home cooked meals- it was a great weekend and we will definitely rent this house again! Thanks so much for sharing your home!

Better than a hotel stay

  • 4 of 5

This home was exactly as pictured. Plenty of beds for a family of 8. Great place to crash at the end of busy days. We were able to tour Baltimore, Annapolis, DC and Ocean City as day trips from here. We ordered take out from Mike's Crabs as that was easier with our 6 children. Yummy! We knew that we may find jellyfish this time of year but was still disappointing that we could not swim more. The house was set for fun with fishing poles and swim tubes available. We did enjoy the new experience of crabbing. Watching the world outside the expansive windows was wonderful and so was enjoying many evening meals out on the deck. Thank you for this time away.

Beautifully furnished home with a great view!

  • 5 of 5

We were so pleased to find this beautiful home for our vacation. The beautiful bay windows in the living room and upstairs bedroom gave a panoramic view of the South River. The house was spacious for me and my husband, and our son, wife, and their eleven month old child. The large bedrooms with walk-in closets had luxury linens. The large living area was beautifully decorated with up-to-date furnishings which were beautifully color coordinated. The kitchen was well stocked with some staples, which made cooking easier. We bought food from the local farmer's market and enjoyed meals on the large deck overlooking the Riva Road bridge. We were able to put our kayaks in the river by using a key provided by the home owner for the community docking area. We then docked our kayaks on the private dock at our house. Boat traffic was minimal so it was a good place to kayak. The neighbors were friendly and we enjoyed walking around the unique neighborhood which included narrow streets with beautiful yards. The only problem we had was parking a car and a truck with two kayaks. The parking space was minimal, but additional parking was available close by.

Lynn, the homeowner, was prompt to answer our emails, and was most helpful. She provided clear rules and instructions which made for a wonderful visit. I highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone looking for a unique vacation rental.

Owner not accommodating

  • 2 of 5

Although the house was nice, the owner is obviously not used to business dealings. We checked in to an incredibly smoke filled house. One child is extremely allergic and the smoke in the home was a problem for him. We asked if we could get one night's rental back for our inconvenience but the owner would not agree. However, she was very quick to ask us for all kinds of help in determining if the former tenants had left cigarette butts, where the smell was most prominent, etc. The list goes on of things she asked us to check on so that SHE could keep her deposit fee from previous renters. She also asked us to do her several favors; she obviously needs to hire a local management company. And then after all we did to help her track every move of previous renters she wouldn't give us a night's rental back, really a person w/o class. She said next time we are back we could have a free night. Well we are not going back and would warn others that the owner is very anal, particular and a pain to deal with.

Owner's Response: We own and operate a smoke-free property. Our smoke-free policy is spelled out in our responses to rental inquiries, our lease agreements, and two No Smoking signs are posted in the house. So I was distressed when our guest reported that she thought the previous owners had been smoking in the home. Before I could ask our previous renters about the situation, I asked our guest a few follow-up questions via email. (I thought our emails exchanges were friendly, and our guest seemed more than willing to provide the information.) When I had gathered as much information as I could, I asked our previous renters about this, and they vehemently denied smoking in the house. So I was in somewhat of a bind...torn between two disparate stories. I expected our guest to cancel on the very first night, and I was fully prepared to help her find other accommodations in the area. But she never asked for that and proceeded to stay the entire four-nights she had booked. When her stay was over, our guest made the suggestion that I hold back the security deposit of the previous renters and use it to refund her for one night's stay. How she determined a price tag of $295 on her family's health and inconvenience caught me off guard and, frankly, seemed puzzling. So I offered her a free night on her next stay. Our guest was also three weeks late in paying her rental fee so would it appear that she, too, is obviously not used to business dealings? Unfortunately, despite my best intentions, things like this happen in the rental business, and I regret the very few occasions when they do. I also regret that our guest reported a bad experience. She seemed like a very nice person to me, and I thought she and her family had enjoyed their stay. I didn't realize that my rejection of her request would result in a character assassin. On a postive note, we have had over 150 satisfied guests, and I would be happy to share some of the glowing comments we have received from them.
