Come enjoy our lovely, VERY PRIVATE, nicely furnished cottage on Waldon Pond (Sand Pond) in Denmark, Maine. We have almost 2 acres with water on two sides and a woodsy path to our own tiny island, you'll fall in the love with the place! The cottage is all wood, high ceilings, and a great view of the water... just 20 feet from the back door. We have a beautiful stone fireplace for any chilly nights and comfortable sleeping for 6 to 8 (the loons and bull frogs will sing you to sleep). We have a row boat and a canoe for your use. There is also deeper water access for your boat just down the road. The bass fishing is amazing. We have a small sandy entry for the young ones and a floating dock for swimming. Dive off our rocks right into deep water! A great getaway for the summer... and the fall foliage is unreal!

Location: Western Maine < Maine < USA

Nearest Airport: Portland at 40 Miles
Bring your bicycles, dirt bikes and ATVs. There are great trails very near the cottage. There's also great hiking right from our door. And, there's golf nearby. Though Denmark feels very remote, it's close to Bridgton and Naples, two very funky towns. Bridgton has great eateries, a drive-in and a fantastic new movie theatre. In Naples, you can rent boats/jet skis and there's a state park too. We're also close to tax-free North Conway, New Hampshire and all its outlet stores!

Our stay was beyond all our expectations. The cottage is spacious, clean and well provided for. The owners are charming and have given their cottage a most homely feel. The views over the lake where one can watch sunrise to sunset - even from a large double hammock - was absolutely stunning, especially during the fall foliage. Fresh water bass may be fished on the lake (full tackle provided) or one can drive fifteen minutes to Naples for fresh lobster or take a seaplane ride. Nearby Bridgeton has an excellent supermarket, quaint shops and very good restaurants (but people tend to eat very early in these parts). There are many hiking trails to take advantage of and various other outdoor activities. In fact I am rather reluctant to recommend this cottage in case it is booked up next time I wish to return!

We have returned to this wonderful location each summer for several years because of the comfortable cabin, the great sunsets, fishing, boating, swimming, bbq'ing, relaxing, and privacy to enjoy sunsets and the large night sky.
