Terrific Hawaii Beach House

My husband and I stayed at the home with our two 3 year old boys and two sisters-in-law. We all had a fabulous time here! The wrap around deck is great for kids to run around and play, as is the lush, lovely yard. We could always hear the ocean and even see whales breach sometimes from our huge lanai. The outdoor living and dining area of the lanai was a marvelous spot to spend time reading, chatting, eating or watching a dramatic nighttime thunderstorm. The house is well designed to accomodate numerous people (could be a bit challenging to put kids to bed in the twin bed, open air loft, but it worked). The downstairs bedroom is very large; the other two are not too big, but work well and open to the deck. We walked often to Manini Beach, basically a green park next to a lava strewn beach with great view (loved the wandering donkey). Our favorite spot was Keei Beach, down a nearby bumpy road, where we played in the sand and snorkeled with sea turtles and colorful fish. We rented kayaks from the friendly rental guys just two houses away, and snorkeled in the bay and kayaked with dolphins. We plan to return here. We were so happy to be in a real, substantive part of the island and one so lush and green and flowered -- much better than the resorts!
