At the end of a private, tree shaded road, our house opens on to a quiet cove with long views of Lake Keowee. As you enter the bright, sun filled house, the lake is visible through large palladian windows. On the right is the dining room with high tray ceilings and a solid French oak table that seats 10. Cheerful original paintings dot the walls. The family room has pine cathedral ceilings and light hardwood floors. Alcoves spotlight local art pieces that can be viewed from the 2 soft leather couches. A 60 inch satelite tv and dvd, provide entertainment options. The eat in kitchen offers another set of large windows to the lake. Down a short hallway lies 2 bedrooms with high ceilings, colorful quilts and pillowtop mattresses. A screened in porch and a deck with a gas grill overlook the lake. Lower level provides another family room and a large bedroom and bath. Decks, waterfall, and gentle flagstone walks lead to our gazebo and private dock to enjoy the water.
Local attractions: The restaurants, shopping at Ram Cat Alley, summer concerts, Clemson University, and movies are only a 10-15 minute drive away. Waterfalls and mountain hiking are only a 30 minute drive. Beautiful and reasonably priced golf courses are within 15 minute drive, and fishing is at your door step. Kids can play miniature golf, hit at a batting cage, and drive small 'cars' 10 minutes away.
I am a semi retired psychologist and management consultant and my wife is a psychotherapist. We live in Atlanta, and come to our house in Lake Keowee as a wonderful retreat from the city.
Byron Fiman purchased this house in 2003
We searched for a lake house within a 2 hour driving time from Atlanta. Lake Keowee was a pleasant surprise-un-crowded, even on summer holidays, clear and clean water, near the shopping of a small town and university, and close to the hiking trails and waterfalls of the mountains.
Absolutely stunning home, inside and out. Views of the clear, turquoise water are gorgeous from kitchen, dining room, living room -- almost everywhere! The hosue is cotted with original art and fine furniture; as another reviewer said, the photos here need updating because the house is so much more beautiful than these photos show. The large back yard is beautifully landscaped with winding stone paths, wonderful plantings, three different deck areas to enjoy (including a wonderful screened porch), even a gurgling waterfall and gazebo with swings! We enjoyed the owner's kayak and other "lake toys", and pulled our boat right up to the owner's dock. If you ever DO spend time inside, you'll love the large kitchen, large and beautiful dining area, wonderful leather couches and enormous flatscreen television! We are very discerning vacationers/travelers, and were absolutely astounded at the price/value for this lovely, lovely home and setting. We also liked the particular location on this lake -- a nice quiet cove, but very close to the "big water" and the "good marina", not to mention very close to our favorite area restaurant, Paesano's. The Owner was very helpful in introducing us to the area. Echoing the other reviewers, you will NOT be disappointed. We would most certainly return here! THANK YOU!
Beautiful house and great location to Clemson and Seneca. This house is loaded with amenities, very comfortable, and perfect for a long weekend. I'd highly recommend this house and you won't be disappointed.
Just wanted to let you know how much we all enjoyed your house and Lake Keowee; both were everything that we expected and more. We found the house comfortable and well equipped. All of us enjoyed the beautiful artwork and decorations. Sitting around the fire pit was a great way to end our day. By the way the fishing in your cove is great...caught and released 15 nice catfish Sunday evening.
Thanks for a great 50th. wedding anniversary celebration,
Chuck and Libby
Thank you for sharing your amazing home with us. It was short notice & you were very kind to allow us to stay. Really enjoyed the house & the decks. Wonderful place to escape the hustle & bustle of everyday routines. Shops close by & lots to see. Wonderful time had by all. Would come back!!
The house is absolutely beautiful and the deck is perfect with the sounds of the waterfall in the background. We brought our own boat and put in at Crooked Creek RV campsites just across the cove. The lake here is absolutely gorgeous! You just have to see for yourself. Stay here and you definitely won't be disappointed. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!
The online pictures do not do this home justice. It's a truly beautiful home with more than sufficient room for group and solo activities. The screen porch, decks, patios and luscious landscaping creates a very tranquil atmosphere. Although it's in a smaller town, all the necessities of life are very close by - restaurants, grocery, shopping (such as Tuesday Morning and Belk), etc. The home is within a very comfortable drive to Clemson and the surrounding areas. The home's wireless network worked flawlessly allowing me to meet work obligations very quickly. There was absolutely nothing lacking - abundant linens of good quality, kitchen supplies (not just one pan/ pot but enough for a full meal), and other general cleaning / toiletry items.
During our stay we had one issue - a triggered home alarm. When the owner was contacted his response was prompt and remained constant through the resolution.
If the opportunity presents itself my family will definitely stay again.
