This small room cannot accommodate a bath tub, so it's a standing shower unit for now. A window at eye level provides natural light, views to the south and lake, and fresh air without compromising privacy! We do ask that guests be conservative with regard to the 'grandfathered' septic system, as it is small and delicate! Also, with water being a precious resource, please be 'green' and respectful of our resources. We ask everyone and we ourselves to please use it as needed but not wastefully...especially in light of 'thinking and living green.' Thank you in advance.

Perfect location to enjoy the best of Maine

Review Submitted: September 6, 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011
We absolutely loved our say at this cottage! We started our vacation by “surviving” hurricane Irene which we did nicely. You had the cottage stocked (puzzles, games, books, movies!) with more than enough activities to keep us entertained while we weathered the ( 36 hour) storm. By Monday morning we began a full week of simply perfect weather we took full advantage of to explore Lincoln County and enjoy much of what Boothbay has to offer. We highly recommend Cap’n Fish’s scenic boat cruise. We took the whale watching tour and, although we didn’t see any, their guarantee granted us another (free) trip which we enjoyed later in the week.
We really felt at home here at the cottage and cooked as many meals in the fully supplied kitchen as we ate out. We enjoyed canoeing, fishing and loon-watching on the lake and our young pup, Opie, became quite the ‘outdoor’ dog by the end of the week!

•Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc? Location is perfect- quiet location but only 10 minutes from town. All you need to bring is soap, towels, bed sheets, coffee and other food and drinks.

•Was the property clean, was it well-maintained, etc? The cottage was spotless!

Great Vacation Spot

Review Submitted: August 6, 2011 Date of Stay: July 2011
This small but very sufficient cottage is located on a beautiful lake with great swimming, canoeing and kayak opportunities. The owners were helpful, friendly and welcoming. Inside, the cottage is clean and cozy, providing everything you need for a great time away. Driving distance to Boothbay Harbor is only ten minutes away, and even closer is the Botanical Gardens. If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet, serene getaway, this is definitely the place to go. We're hoping to go again soon!!

A Lovely Family Vacation

Review Submitted: July 14, 2011 Date of Stay: July 2011
We enjoyed our stay at this little cottage! Nice waterfront for swimming and fishing. I enjoyed sitting on the dock and reading. The boys also went out in the canoe and kayak and caught many fish. The cottage itself is cozy and sweet, enough room for a family of four, and we loved sitting and watching a thunderstorm from the big picture window in the living room one evening. There was a family of loons - a father, mother, and two babies - that came by our dock one evening too!
The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and utensils for cooking....plenty of dishes and flatware. I had everything I needed for making and serving our meals.
The playground just up the road was a favorite for our two little boys. We spent a little time there every day, did as much swimming as we could, did lots of fishing, and spent the rest of the time reading and napping - the perfect family vacation for us ; )

A little spot of Heaven here!

Review Submitted: July 13, 2011 Date of Stay: July 2010
This is the place I have been looking for my whole life: a place that takes me back to my childhood, my Dad's childhood, the beginnings of time....

This whole experience has been wonderful. The energy here is warm, positive and healing-- truly restful and therapeutic. I loved sitting on the dock taking in all the sights and sounds of nature, the warm breezes off the water. Reading and napping on the bunk in the afternoon sun were a treat!

I can't wait to return! You both are great hosts and I am thankful to have found you and your own spot of Heaven here!
Until then, best wishes and many thanks for your kindnesses.

Fabulous memories made here!

Review Submitted: July 13, 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011
We thoroughly enjoyed these two weeks in this lovely area: your charming cottage is in a GREAT location. We were able to enjoy the best of both worlds: the quiet, serenity of the lake and the excitement of downtown Boothbay Harbor (just a "stone's throw away"!)

We planned to be here for Windjammer Days and were amazed at all the festivities! Street jazz and folk bands were fun, boat and street parades, great food! Watching the tall ships and schooners come in under full sail and glorious skies was magnificent!! There are all majestic beauties, and one can only imagine the days-a hundred years ago and then some- when they were common. A sight all should see at least once in one's lifetime.

We recommend the local Burnt Island lighthouse cruise, the whale watch, the antique auto museum, Botanical Gardens (WOW) and any of the local Landtrust Preserve Trails! Thanks for your keen suggestion of a few of your favorite eateries: Rocktide, The Lobster Shack, Robinson's Wharf on Southport, Le Garage in Wiscasset (great!), and King Eider's Pub in Damariscotta (yum & colorful!) Bets Fish Fry for lunch is not to be missed--or the Old Fashioned ice cream parlor & Daffy Taffy pull in the Harbor. We now must diet!!

We will long remember and treasure these fabulous memories. Thank you for sharing this special place and for being so friendly and helpful! You are bound to get rental business from our friends and families!!
