TRANQUIL BED AND BREAKFAST WITH MAJESTIC OCEAN VIEWS!

Maunaloa House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Molokai Komohana is located adjacent to the rolling pastures of the Molokai Ranch, on the west end of the peaceful island of Molokai. As you look down across the beautiful fields, inhabited with horses and cattle, you will see the spectacular beaches that are only minutes away, including the largest white sand beach in Hawaii!

Komohana means, West, where the sun enters the sea.

The inviting front porch of our plantation-style home is a comfortable place to take in the golden sunsets, over Diamond Head, on the island of Oahu. You may want to linger and enjoy the millions of stars that grace the skies of night-time Molokai. Our evenings are cool and refreshing and a hot cup of tea or some hot chocolate, with fresh homemade cookies, are a cozy addition to the evening.

You may want to relax in your room or in our inviting living room. We have entertaining table games of Hawaiian theme or our collection of books on Hawaiian culture and history may be of interest as well. Of course, TV is available both in your room and in the living room.

In the morning, awake well rested and enjoy a delicious island breakfast including fresh fruit, hot dish, Molokai coffee and homemade breads or rolls. Now, you are ready to enjoy a great day on Molokai! We will be happy to help you plan your time on our lovely island.

Come relax and enjoy the tranquility of our home, as you visit our island of Old Hawai`i. You will be greeted with Aloha, and will feel welcomed to your 'home away from home.' Please call or email if you have any questions, we would love to talk with you.

Aloha, Tom & Karyl

My friend and I stayed at Tom and Karyl's B and B over the weekend. The room is extremely clean which I loved. I have gluten issues and wasn't sure how breakfast is going to work. Tom and Karyl took the extra time and asked me questions of what I can or cannot eat. They made the BEST gluten free pancakes for me. I was beyond bless. I highly recommend this place.
I loved talking to them. Thank you for an excellent weekend.

Better than any hotel on Molokai. Would definitely stay again.

My wife and I started our two week Honeymoon in Molokai before going to Maui and Lanai. We absolutely loved this place. It was clean, peaceful, and Tom was an excellent host. Unfortunately, Karyl was out of state for our visit. Tom was an excellent cook and he was a wealth of knowledge about Molokai just as the other reviews attest. Molokai is a special place to my wife and I and we couldn't think of a better place to stay. His recommendations on beaches and tours guides (needed for some hikes due to private property rules) were wonderful and cheaper than some of the places you will find online.

I loved this place!

Sometimes you just get lucky....you read a few reviews of places to stay a few nights on Molokai and you choose the one that seems the best fit. That's what happened to me...I am so thrilled with my choice! Tom and Karyl are innkeepers extraordinare. And it takes one to know one! From the start Tom gave me so much information about the area and the best places to have dinner. Also about the best beaches! I am particular about having a sparkling clean place to rest my head and this place didn't disappoint. I appreciated the special DVD on Kalaupapa (I took the mule ride and loved it) and numerous books and publications about the island. But best of all......delicious breakfasts! How about Tom's banana and macadamia pancakes, so light and fluffy with Karyl's special homemade sauce! They even adjusted the time to accommodate my early morning mule ride! That was above the call of duty! Thank you both so much for providing a modern, comfortable, economical stay. I sure hope to get back there again!

Awesome!

I was hesitant to book a B&B for our short visit to Molokai, but my daughter and I couldn't have been more pleased. We live on the island of Oahu and were on Molokai, specifically, to tour Kalaupapa. Tom and Karyl were wonderful. Before booking, I spoke with Tom on the phone, then corresponded with Karyl numerous times via email. After reserving with them, our travel date changed. That was no problem for them and, lucky for us, they had availability on our new dates.

Immediately upon arriving, we felt right at home. The place was very clean, which is super important to me because I am very funny about germs. We hiked in and out of Kalaupapa, so before going to bed, I stretched on our bedroom floor so I would not be stiff the next morning (it didn't work; both me and my teenage daughter were ridiculously stiff for the next week LOL). For a germ-a-phobe, laying on the floor says it all. Our bed was very comfortable and we slept like babies.

One morning, I sat on the lanai and watched the sun rise and the farm animals graze in the field across from their house, then I read. It was very quiet. Tom brought me my choice of tea. The breakfasts were amazing--I'm still thinking about the macadamia pancakes and the delicious syrup Karyl made. She joined us for breakfast after inquiring if it was ok and we really enjoyed getting to know how she ended up in Hawaii from Michigan. Tom and Karyl are such sweet, humble hosts.

Only 20 minutes from the Molokai airport, this B&B was perfect for us. The next time we're on Molokai, I will not have to research hotels.I will call Tom and Karyl first.
