This unique country cottage is situated on a spring-fed fresh water lake one block from Kenney's Beach - a sandy Long Island Sound beach staffed by Southold Town lifeguards. Designed to maximize the beauty of its pristine surroundings, the entire back of the house has French doors opening onto a deck that runs the full length of the house and picture windows offering commanding views of the lake. In the backyard there is a hammock, outdoor shower, barbeque and hot tub. The lake is perfect for kayaking and fishing. If nature gets too loud, go on inside; you have Wi-Fi, Direct TV, a VCR, DVD player and television with surround sound. There are 2 bedrooms: one with a queen bed, the other with trundle twins. Each room has a dresser and large closet. The floors are wood. The master bedroom has screened French Doors that open onto the deck so you can be lulled to sleep by the great outdoors. The open plan living room has tile floors and an oriental carpet.

From Greenport, take the ferry to quaint, historic Shelter Island where you can explore by bike and kayak or continue on to the South Fork and Hamptons. 4 public golf courses can be reached within 15 minutes. Splish Splash with water slides and wave pools is a favorite with kids, especially on a hot afternoon. And there are bike paths running along the bay or Sound. Rain in the forecast? Wine tasting at the vineyards or shopping at Tanger Mall!.

A queen sleep sofa accommodates guests. There is a brick fireplace and plenty of firewood. The dining room is also tiled and has a table that opens out to seat 6 - 8. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless appliances, microwave, gas range. The bathroom is a European style tiled room adorned with Turkish mosaics. The shower is free standing and unenclosed with a center drain in the floor. This home is an ideal family get-away, a place to share with friends, or perfect for romance.

Local vineyards abound. Become an expert and impress your friends! You had better hit Tanger Mall first though, or you WILL over-buy! In Mattituck there is a multi-plex with first run movies. Riverhead has an aquarium, Walmart, Target, BJ's.
