Great place to escape

Cabin is as described. The neighbors across the yard are the owners, very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and decorated as you would expect a hunting cabin with game souvenirs on the walls of the living area. The location is about 8 miles outside of West Glacier on the highway that goes around the south border of the park. You are about 12 to 15 minutes from the restaurants of West Glacier. The short drive to the cabin crosses a creek on a home-made but reliable wooden bridge, so be careful if riding a motorcycle. The one minor drawback is the railroad that passes on the other side of the highway from the cabin - there is quite a bit of RR traffic but there are no crossings so no whistles, just the rumble of trains. One aspect to the narrow valley surrounded by some fairly lofty heights is that there is no GPS, cell phone or television reception - as far as we were concerned that was just great. If constant contact with the outside world is required, this is not the place for you. There is a small TV with DVD player and stereo with CD player. There is a full sized kitchen range with stove, full sized frig, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, four sets of dishes so bring paper plates if there will be more, enough cookware to take care of business. No telephone in the cabin, but the landlords are EMTs so have communication with the outside world. There is no handicap access.
Would definitely recommend this property, and would return to stay here again. If you have a thing about bear skins, trophy game heads and stuffed game animals on the walls, then this might not be the place for you. We thought it was just fine.
