Seaview House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7)
This picturesque three-bedroom, two-bath vacation home is just a short stroll from the shore of the Long Beach peninsula and its remarkable 28 miles of sandy coastline - the self-proclaimed longest stretch of continuous beach in the world! Filled with antiques and plenty of old world character, this lovely cottage will provide a comfortable getaway on Washington's famed Discovery Coast. If you need even more room for fun, look at booking this and the Hummingbird Cottage together!
Stepping through the front door is like walking into a beautifully decorated B&B, except here you have the entire place to yourself. A cozy living room includes comfortable seating and decorative heirloom touches, from lace tablecloths to fringe-shaded lamps, lending this unique space an elegant and homey feel. The sofa converts to a queen sleeper if needed and also provides a restful spot to put your feet up while you sit before the decorative fireplace. Although the living room's decor will make you feel like you're in a bygone era, rest assured, you are still in the here and now: a TV with DVD and BluRay player is available for your entertainment, as well as a stereo and CD player.
A full farmhouse-style kitchen with beautiful parquet flooring will have you baking fresh bread and cookies just like Grandma used to. Imagine coming back from a sunny day at the beach to a homemade blueberry pie cooling on window ledge! Of course, on your vacation, nothing says you have to make your own bread or pies; head a little more than a mile north to the Cottage Bakery and pick up all kinds of delicious pastries and baked goods (it's also a local favorite breakfast spot). For an outdoor meal back at home, the deck looks out over the beautifully landscaped yard, and there is a charcoal grill for lazy afternoon barbecues with the family.
An open dining room has a wooden table with seating for six, surrounded by lots of windows and flowing red drapes. After dinner, it's an ideal spot to relax around the table and talk about the day, or play a game of cards.
Downstairs, there is a full bathroom next to the kitchen and a bedroom with a queen sized bed. This bedroom, located right off the living room, continues the traditional feel of the house with an antique armoire, sitting table, and cozy bed for a peaceful night's rest.
Head up the carpeted stairs and you will find two more bedrooms and the second full bath. There is a big bedroom with a double-sized brass bed, decorative Oriental rug, and a small sitting area. Feel free to borrow a book from the upstairs bookshelf and comfortably read in bed as long as you want on laid-back mornings!
The third bedroom has a quilt-covered twin brass bed, small bedside table with reading lamp, and an antique dresser. The home's three bedrooms and two full baths will accommodate seven guests amiably. Everywhere you turn in this delightful house, there are curious knickknacks, furnishings, and antiques to discover!
This is the coast of course, so no matter how interesting the interior, you'll want to spend time outside. The town of Seaview, situated right on the southern end of the beautiful Long Beach peninsula, has almost 30 miles of beaches and numerous seaside towns to explore. From the house, it's only a few blocks to the shore, where there's an endless coastal playground for kite flying, hunting for shells, or just spreading out a beach blanket and getting lost in a good book.
The nearby Long Beach Boardwalk stretches out for about a half a mile and has picnic spots, interpretive exhibits and panoramic views. This area of the Washington coast also has designated areas for driving your car on the beach. If you're feeling adventurous, take a leisurely ride up the beach looking for that perfect picnic spot!
For a day trip, head up the peninsula, stopping in Ocean Park, the historic town of Oysterville, and finally ending up at Ledbetter Point State Park for an afternoon of hiking. Back down in Seaview, a delicious dinner is only a short four block walk away at the Depot Restaurant for steaks and seafood. And after that? A stroll down to the shore to watch the sunset, of course!
On days when you feel like doing more than just exploring the nearby beaches, visit the Lighthouse at Cape Disappointment, just four miles away in Ilwaco. The hilly, Victorian-esque town of Astoria, Oregon is less than 20 miles south. The short journey will take you across the Astoria-Megler Bridge, a steel truss bridge that spans across the majestic Columbia River, connecting Washington and Oregon. In Astoria there are an ample number of museums, restaurants, stores and galleries to peruse.
This unique Farmhouse Cottage combines a great location with a comfortable and homey setting. Let it be your spot on the Long Beach Peninsula to get away from it all!
