Great Family Vacation

This was an excellent location. The house was roomy and bright with a nice deck for eating and relaxing. My kids sat out there and played their musical instruments. Nicely furnished, but not enough seating if everyone wants to lit and watch TV (the summer Olympics were on while we were there and the couch was a bit crowded). There was plenty of parking and an outdoor shower.
The private ocean beach was very nice and easy to drive to and park, but no lifeguard so you have to keep an eye on the kids.
We visited the Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge, which was a very short drive away, Mystic, Ct. and the Aquarium made a great day trip, and you could visit the aquarium free the second day if you get your tickets validated. We enjoyed another great day trip to Newport and the mansions.
We happened to be there on Governors' Bay Day and all the beaches were free that day so we were able to check out a few different beaches. We also went to the beach in the late afternoons, there was free parking after 3 or 4 and the lifeguards were still there for a while.
There was so much to see and do we were never bored. Had a fun time shopping at The Fantastic Umbrella Factory in Charleston, where they do not make umbrellas, but have many interesting things including a small Bamboo Forest and free range chickens, as well as art and clothing. We even went to a local concert of Irish music in the town center. There is also a nearby flea market, and a seafood festival was going on while we were there.
There was so much to do that it seemed like we were there for 2 weeks. We have 4 teenagers, age 12 to 19, and they all had a great time and found lots to do.
