Photos and Description of the Gloucester - Annisquam vacation house rental 4 bedrooms, sleeps 8, 3 1/2 bathrooms

A newer beach home (completed July 2004) located in the private Diamond Cove area of Annisquam in Gloucester. Even though it is not directly on the water, it is the perfect location. You have the use of two (semi-private, association members only) beaches. It is only a minute walk to the Diamond Cove rocky beach, where you can swim, dive, launch your kayak or just sit and watch the beautiful sunset. It is about a five minute walk to the Annisquam Light House sandy beach. Out the back door you will have a deck with a view of the surrounding woods. The first floor is an open living and dining area with a wall of southern exposure windows overlooking the woods. There is a gas fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. A guest bath plus a bedroom with a private bath complete the first floor. The second floor has three bedrooms, a bath and a laundry room. The third floor is a large open game room. There is gas fireplace, a TV den area, pool table area, a computer area and a bathroom.

Gloucester is the oldest working seaport and art colony in America, and it is one of the top five whale watching areas in the world. The activities are endless. Charter fishing, hiking, kayaking, antiquing, birding (one of the top areas in the US), sunset schooner cruises, theaters, museums, tours, and there is a mountain bike trail nearby. There are many great local restaurants. Best of all, the beaches and sunsets are beautiful. Gloucester is only 45 minutes by commuter train or car to Boston.

There is a lot to do in this area, but the best thing is you don't have to do anything! The house is completely furnished and for the convenience of our long distance renters, we operate on a use it up and replace it system for all the staple items (if you use up the salt or the laundry detergent, just replace it before you leave). Just bring your clothes and personal items. There is an information book available in the house that lists local activities, restaurants, maps, etc. that will provide the answer most any question.

Great location - central to lots of activities!
Clean with everything you could ever need! We loved the notebook the owners provided with all kinds of very useful information - everything from location of grocery stores to area attractions! We recommend this to friends and family! We would love to return soon!

We enjoyed a mini-family reunion at this beautiful home. The first floor bedroom was perfect for those wanting to avoid stairs. The house was amazing - bright and airy - crisp and clean with everything we needed and then some . . . truely made our family time together very special. I think everyone will remember this trip for years to come.
The owners are wonderful - even mailed an item we left at the house back to us - now that is hospitality!
