Yosemite Hilltop Cabins are located within the gates of Yosemite National Park in the tiny community of Foresta. It is hard to believe that such a quiet and peaceful place like this exists just fifteen minutes from the sometimes bustling Yosemite Valley.
The cabins are very private. Even though the Sage and Lupin cabins are right next to each other they are oriented to maintain maximum privacy. Each cabin has 17-foot-tall wood beam ceilings with ceiling fans and lots of windows to take advantage of the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. When you are at the cabins you can see the top of El Capitan, Yosemite's world famous 3000 ft tall granite cliff.
Each cabin has a master bedroom with a comfy king-size bed and down comforter. They also have a full bath, full kitchen, and reading loft. Each cabin also has its own patio with a high quality Weber gas barbecue
When you arrive at your cabin there will be fresh linens on the bed and clean towels in the bathroom. There will be brand-name shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the bathroom. You will only need to bring food, clothes, and personal toiletry items.
Fantastic hiking and running trails with wildflowers, waterfalls, and wildlife can be accessed right from the cabins.
The Sage and Lupin cabins are available for nightly rental. Each cabin has a TV/DVD player. There is a small DVD library to pick from or you can bring your own movies.
The kitchen has all the cookware and dinnerware that you will need to prepare and serve meals. The kitchen also has a microwave oven, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, and coffee maker.
The cabins are heated in the winter by a propane heaters that looks like a wood-burning stoves. Both cabins have air conditioning for your summer comfort.
Some cell phones work at the cabins. Verizon is the best. Each cabin has a land-line telephone for use during your stay.
There is satellite internet provided by HughesNet. There is a cap on the amount of bandwidth that is available. PLEASE DO NOT STREAM MOVIES OR WATCH VIDEOS AS IT WILL IMPACT GUESTS THAT ARRIVE AFTER YOU.
As of November 2014 there is no longer a hot tub at the cabins. It was a tough decision but keeping the hot tub clean and in working order finally became too much.

I love Yosemite! That is why I built the cabins there. I love being able to share this great spot with others.
Steve purchased this cabin in 2000
I like to spend my time rock climbing and hiking.
Yosemite is one of the best places in the world to do these things
Yosemite Hilltop Cabins are located in the community of Foresta. Foresta is located in Yosemite National Park and is only 8 miles from towering granite cliffs of Yosemite Valley.
Wanting to celebrate mine and my boyfriends one year of being together, we decided on renting a cabin somewhere last minute. After a long search, we came across this listing for the Lupin cabin. It was absolutely perfect! It was just like a little home and seemed so welcoming. We booked the dates immediately! We did however get an email saying if we wanted to switch our cabin to the back cabin (Sage) so that we would have more privacy...best decision ever! We were very impressed when we first arrived. It was in a very quiet and peaceful area. The cabin was exactly what we wanted. It had all the amenities and it was so cozy. The cabin is pretty close to favorite spots in Yosemite...The Bridalveil fall, Curry Village, Mirror Lake, Vernal Falls, Yosemite Village, Yosemite Falls and The Awhawnee as well. After long days of exploring it was nice to come home to a warm cabin and a big comfy bed. We very much recommend staying here! Great for family, personal vacation, romantic getaway etc. etc. We can not wait to come back to Yosemite and believe us...we'll know where to stay. Thanks Steve! P.s What even made this place even more special to us is...We got engaged! :)
This is a beautiful little cabin and Steve is incredibly helpful!
The place is perfect for two and has all of the ingredients you need - kitchen, little dining table, good bathroom, great bed, big couch, and a gas stove. Wifi and a little TV also worked like a charm.
And...Yosemite. Obviously very well located!
We rented this cabin for a 3 night stay in October. The Dog Rock fire broke out approximately 1 mile from the cabin a week before our stay. The owner kept us updated and our vacation went on as planned. We had to take the western entrance in instead of the southern but that was the only impact. The air was crisp and clean and there was no smoke.
The cabin is very nicely situated for trips to Yosemite Valley as it is literally minutes away. Being in the park itself is nice as you get to avoid the lines coming in every day. The dirt road leading to the cabin itself is a bit rough but did not cause any issues.
The cabin is nicely furnished and equipped. It was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. We brought our own food and found the kitchen met all of our needs. When we ran low on paper towels, the owner had someone deliver more to us that same day.
The hot tub was much appreciated after a long day of hiking. It is shared by the 2 cabins but the timing was always right - when we were finishing our soak, the folks from the other cabin arrived home so the hot tub was available for them alone and vice versa! I was a bit hesitant about sharing a hot tub but it worked out well.
I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone visiting Yosemite Valley!
My husband and I spent 3 nights in this wonderful cabin Sept 2014. The owner, Steve, was very helpful with my questions before our arrival. The cabin was very clean. We had everything we needed. Great bed, fully furnished kitchen, and nice outside patio with grill. We took groceries and cooked all our meals. When we left in the morning for the day we packed our lunch in an ice chest and headed out the door. We were close to the village. The wifi was fine. I have sprint cell service which was spotty in the cabin but worked fine at the dumpsters and in serveral sections of the park but not in the valley.
I found the cabin to be as described. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle of the village. We found it very relaxing to come back from a day of hiking and sight seeing.
My husband and daughter (age 13) just stayed 3 nights in the Lupin cabin and loved it!
The location is perfect! The cabin is only 10minutes from the valley which is where we did most of our hikes and about 30 minutes from Glacier Point which offers stellar views. The cabin itself is new and well designed. It was so nice to come back to the cabin in the middle of the day to cool off and get a second wind(it was 90 when we were there). We could easily grill out and then return back to Yosemite to enjoy more hiking and views.
The owner’s attention to detail was outstanding! I work for AAA and will be sure to recommend this property to my travelers.
Thank you to Steve and Sue-your service was excellent!
Stayed at Hilltop Cabins (Sage) with my wife and two teenage sons for 3 nights in June. The cabin was very nice and well equipped. Due to the location, we felt like we had a head start on some of the crowds visiting Yosemite Valley. The park itself was everything we expected. Apparently much of the area around the cabins burned a few years back, so the cabins are in a fairly open area. A really nice place to come back to after a day hiking or rafting the Merced River. Sue was very helpful. One caveat: the loft was good for my sons, but may not be suitable for some others.
