Overview

Yosemite National Park Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Each cabin has 1 bedroom with a king bed, sofa-bed, reading loft & full bathroom

Yosemite Hilltop Cabins are located within the gates of Yosemite National Park in the tiny community of Foresta. It is hard to believe that such a quiet and peaceful place like this exists just fifteen minutes from the sometimes bustling Yosemite Valley.

The cabins are very private. Even though the Sage and Lupin cabins are right next to each other they are oriented to maintain maximum privacy. Each cabin has 17-foot-tall wood beam ceilings with ceiling fans and lots of windows to take advantage of the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. When you are at the cabins you can see the top of El Capitan, Yosemite's world famous 3000 ft tall granite cliff.

Each cabin has a master bedroom with a comfy king-size bed and down comforter. They also have a full bath, full kitchen, and reading loft. Each cabin also has its own patio with a high quality Weber gas barbecue

When you arrive at your cabin there will be fresh linens on the bed and clean towels in the bathroom. There will be brand-name shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the bathroom. You will only need to bring food, clothes, and personal toiletry items.

Fantastic hiking and running trails with wildflowers, waterfalls, and wildlife can be accessed right from the cabins.

The Sage and Lupin cabins are available for nightly rental. Each cabin has a TV/DVD player. There is a small DVD library to pick from or you can bring your own movies.

The kitchen has all the cookware and dinnerware that you will need to prepare and serve meals. The kitchen also has a microwave oven, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, and coffee maker.

The cabins are heated in the winter by a propane heaters that looks like a wood-burning stoves. Both cabins have air conditioning for your summer comfort.

Some cell phones work at the cabins. Verizon is the best. Each cabin has a land-line telephone for use during your stay.

There is satellite internet provided by HughesNet. There is a cap on the amount of bandwidth that is available. PLEASE DO NOT STREAM MOVIES OR WATCH VIDEOS AS IT WILL IMPACT GUESTS THAT ARRIVE AFTER YOU.

As of November 2014 there is no longer a hot tub at the cabins. It was a tough decision but keeping the hot tub clean and in working order finally became too much.

Current Yosemite road and weather conditions can be found by calling Yosemite National Park at 209-372-0200. Current road conditions in the State of California can be found by calling Caltrans at 800-427-7623.

lovely cabin in an incredible location

  • 5 of 5
We rented this cabin for a 3 night stay in October. The Dog Rock fire broke out approximately 1 mile from the cabin a week before our stay. The owner kept us updated and our vacation went on as planned. We had to take the western entrance in instead of the southern but that was the only impact. The air was crisp and clean and there was no smoke.

The cabin is very nicely situated for trips to Yosemite Valley as it is literally minutes away. Being in the park itself is nice as you get to avoid the lines coming in every day. The dirt road leading to the cabin itself is a bit rough but did not cause any issues.

The cabin is nicely furnished and equipped. It was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. We brought our own food and found the kitchen met all of our needs. When we ran low on paper towels, the owner had someone deliver more to us that same day.

The hot tub was much appreciated after a long day of hiking. It is shared by the 2 cabins but the timing was always right - when we were finishing our soak, the folks from the other cabin arrived home so the hot tub was available for them alone and vice versa! I was a bit hesitant about sharing a hot tub but it worked out well.

I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone visiting Yosemite Valley!

Wonderful Cabin

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I spent 3 nights in this wonderful cabin Sept 2014. The owner, Steve, was very helpful with my questions before our arrival. The cabin was very clean. We had everything we needed. Great bed, fully furnished kitchen, and nice outside patio with grill. We took groceries and cooked all our meals. When we left in the morning for the day we packed our lunch in an ice chest and headed out the door. We were close to the village. The wifi was fine. I have sprint cell service which was spotty in the cabin but worked fine at the dumpsters and in serveral sections of the park but not in the valley.
I found the cabin to be as described. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle of the village. We found it very relaxing to come back from a day of hiking and sight seeing.

family trip to Yosemite for 3night stay

  • 5 of 5
My husband and daughter (age 13) just stayed 3 nights in the Lupin cabin and loved it!
The location is perfect! The cabin is only 10minutes from the valley which is where we did most of our hikes and about 30 minutes from Glacier Point which offers stellar views. The cabin itself is new and well designed. It was so nice to come back to the cabin in the middle of the day to cool off and get a second wind(it was 90 when we were there). We could easily grill out and then return back to Yosemite to enjoy more hiking and views.
The owner’s attention to detail was outstanding! I work for AAA and will be sure to recommend this property to my travelers.
Thank you to Steve and Sue-your service was excellent!

Nice place, close to Yosemite Valley

  • 4 of 5
Stayed at Hilltop Cabins (Sage) with my wife and two teenage sons for 3 nights in June. The cabin was very nice and well equipped. Due to the location, we felt like we had a head start on some of the crowds visiting Yosemite Valley. The park itself was everything we expected. Apparently much of the area around the cabins burned a few years back, so the cabins are in a fairly open area. A really nice place to come back to after a day hiking or rafting the Merced River. Sue was very helpful. One caveat: the loft was good for my sons, but may not be suitable for some others.

Beautiful cabin and excellent location!

  • 5 of 5
My husband, daughter and I stayed for 5 nights. It was a beautiful cabin and the location was perfect as we like to be close to the park, yet away from the crowds. This cabin provided both.

The bed was very comfortable and had nice bedding. My daughter slept in the loft and it was nice for her to have a foam pad to use. She was very comfortable. The towels were good quality as were the shampoo and conditioner. I am not difficult to please. I am ok with basic, but it's very nice to have nice bedding, towels, etc. We loved having the grill and patio set to use, as well as the hot tub. When renting places, we look for a hot tub and it was wonderful to have after hiking all day!

The cabin was exactly as it was described/pictured in the listing. Prior to arrival, Steve (the manager) addressed all of our questions and responded promptly. During our stay, we had some issues with the hot tub. Dan, the maintenance man, gave us suggestions to try until he was able to get there to address the problem. Dan and Steve were very pleasant and friendly. Having good communication is important. We stayed at a rental house in Maine last year and had issues, one owner said she would send someone over (they never showed), the other owner never returned our calls. The issues were never addressed.

The only things I would recommend (and it is totally just what we would have wanted and not the owner's responsibility to provide) would be a blender which we would have used for smoothies every day and a few books to choose from. There were tons of DVD's and several children's books which was great to see even though we didn't need them. I would have appreciated a few books since we flew and I had already finished all the books we brought. We did leave one book there that we hope others will enjoy reading.

We recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to be close to the park and away from the crowds. And, because we loved this cabin and because communication with Steve and Dan was good, we will consider renting this owner's property near Moab when we visit that area.

There is no better place to stay in Yosemite!

  • 5 of 5
After finding the Hilltop Cabins on TripAdvisor, my husband and I booked the Sage cabin a year out for our stay here May 31-June 5, 2014. We had a fantastic time and would recommend these cabins to anyone. We arrived on a Saturday, having driven from SFO airport to Yosemite. We stopped in a town along the way (Dublin) to pick-up dry goods at a Safeway and save some money on groceries in the Valley. We were able to pick up additional cold/meat necessities at the Village Store in the Valley for a fairly decent price. The cabin had everything we needed for a five-night stay including basics such as cookware, salt & pepper, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and shampoo & conditioner. In addition, previous guests had left several types of condiments to use as well as paper plates, tupperware, plastic ziplock bags, etc. We went on long hikes every day so we were gone from the cabin until early evening, but it was such a joy to come back to. My husband and I were able to enjoy beer on the patio and then cook dinner on the grill. Coming back to the peace and quiet of Foresta after the hustle and bustle of the Valley was our favorite part. It only took about 20-25 minutes to drive to most trailheads in the Valley, making this a great lodging choice. We can't wait to come back!
