Come to the Garden Hideaway at Lotus Farm. Experience the Hawaii most tourists never see. This soulful, laid-back slice of paradise is set amidst 3 lush and lovingly maintained acres on a mature, established organic tropical fruit farm and palm nursery with an abundance of just picked fruit for you to enjoy. We are only a five minute drive from several secluded, pristine beaches and rivers.

The Hideaway was created with your every comfort in mind. Your home away from home is tucked away down its own private drive and enclosed in a serene, tropical Asian style courtyard. A comfortable outdoor lounging lanai, under a pergola of tropical vines, looks out over the peaceful meditation garden. Your nearest neighbors are 100 yards away and obscured by lush foliage, assuring your privacy and seclusion. The open floor plan and high pinewood ceilings create a sense of spaciousness in the light, airy, uncluttered and tastefully done 500 sq. ft. one room cottage with dining, living and sleeping areas. The kitchen has a two burner gas stove top, toaster oven, bar size sink, full size refrigerator, cookware and dinnerware and is best suited for light meal preparation. There is also a washer and dryer for your convenience.

Our guests rave about the enclosed outdoor shower and bath area that is directly off the indoor 1/2 bath. The cottage is done in shades of apricot, beige, rust and green and decorated with Hawaiian art prints and furnished in bamboo, wicker and rattan. The comfortable king size bed is covered in cotton bedding.

Our central location is ideal. We are just 35 minutes from the Lihue airport and 35 minutes from the end of the road in Haena, making anywhere on the island an easy half day excursion. The small local flavored town of Kilauea is only five minutes from the Hideaway. There you will find a great bakery, shops, restaurants, pharmacy, post office, video store, and other conveniences. We are longtime Kauai residents who are happy to share our favorite spots with you as well as setting up special requests such as in house massage and other holistic health treatments.

Great place to stay!

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and could not have been happier with the place! It was such a peaceful place to stay. The place was very clean and well kept, simple but charming. The location was great... easy access to all the great local spots.

A few great local spots we found and would recommend are the Garden Cafe for breakfast or lunch (try the Lamb burger), the Kilauea Town Market for basic groceries and an excellent wine selection, Banana Joe's for a frosty and Hanalei Dolphin for a night out and great sushi! For a great sunset, grab a cocktail at the St. Regis. For your morning Coffee while you are staying, buy a half pound of Kona coffee at the Hanalei Coffee Roasters (and a banana/papaya waffle while you are at it)... get it whole bean and use the provided grinder at your Garden Hideaway! Be sure to familiarize yourself with the "pour over" coffee brewing method because that is what they provide.

If you are looking to avoid the Princeville crowds and want more of a low-key, local experience, this is the place to stay!

The Perfect Hideaway!

We SO enjoyed our stay at this beautifully decorated, tropical hideaway. So private, so comfortable..
The owners clearly understand hospitality, with fresh citrus and avocados delivered to the door, a huge amount of plush, yummy towels, olive oil in the kitchen. Small details go a long way.
We enjoyed the location also, perfectly placed on the North Shore. x Close to great restaurants but quietly tucked away where nobody can find you!

What a beautiful surprise it was for my husband and I when we pulled into the long driveway filled with palm trees and arrived to the cottage. It was beyond what we expected! The lush garden surrounding us was unbelievable. Lisa and David have created such a special place for renters, on their beautiful farm. You have literally everything you need. From cooking to even being able to do your own laundry. And what a great idea with the bath and shower outside. Also many different books about the history of Kauai and the hiking trails with maps and all specials things you can do on the Island depending on which time of the year you are visiting. If you are looking for seclusion, peace and serenity, this is the place to be. You do wake up early with the roosters walking around everywhere but we loved it. There are so many things to do on Kauai that you do want to wake up early.:-) You will be a part of the locals on the north shore, so make sure you ask about all the hidden spots and best sights. Don't forget to try the local bakery in Kilauea for fresh coffee in the morning. Along with the lighthouse bistro at night for great local food and live music. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for peace...It's heaven! Mahalo again Lisa & David.

Christmas Break Honeymoon

We spend 8 days at the cottage for our December honeymoon and loved every moment. It is quiet, secluded and comfortable. The owners have created a special retreat for travelers wishing to avoid the crowds at typical resorts and condo properties. The kitchen is great for light cooking and the cottage is a wonderful place to hang out and listen to the winter rain and wind. We loved sleeping with the sounds of the garden. Also within in easy distance of Kilauea, Anini Beach, and Hanelei, the cottage is in a perfect location to explore the North Shore of Kauai. I hope we'll be back, sooner rather than later!

WONDERFUL SURPRISE

We were looking for a quiet get a way. Not a big hotel resort experience. The pix, the description the price were all perfect. But there's always a chance those pix are 10 years old or don't reflect mildew smells or other unexpected surprises.
Not the case here!! This is the perfect hide a way experience! From the minute we turned onto the property the magic began. Lovely. PRIVATE! Cared for with kindness and a general good vibe that is evident throughout!
We had never been to Kauai so we had places to go and things to see, but it was tempting to just stay home and enjoy the luxurious peace of this place!
Hope to return again!
Very grateful for how these lodgings added to our trip!!
