My new favorite vacation

Review Submitted: October 8, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I spent a week in this cottage and it was perfect for my needs. The owner is very courteous and accommodating. The screen porch is spacious and the perfect place for a family meal, a relaxing read, or a get together with family and friends. The cottage was clean and ready when I arrived. There is plenty of privacy as well. I have camped on this lake in the past, but this property has all the outdoors of camping with the comforts of home. I plan on returning. My family and I would like to make it an annual event.

relaxing retreat

Quaint little camp.Due to the recent rains, the ground was extremely wet, so we wore sandals outside. We had great weather and so enjoyed the lake and dock. Plenty of outside chairs.Sunbathing, swimming, and floating was great. We brought kayaks, floats, & canoe which really made it enjoyable. Not alot of boat traffic. Noisy on the week-ends with large family gatherings across the lake. But during the week was like we were the only ones on the lake!.Screened porch was nice to have and plenty of space to eat on porch.Bedrooms were adequate.Little mold issue in master bedroom, could be from all the rain this summer.Close enough for a trip to Hampton Beach. Bakery near by was yummy. Quilts shops near by.

Wonderful stay, will come again...

This place is great! The cottage is cute and roomy – the kids had their own bunk beds in one room while we had a queen sized bed in ours. The living room has a sleeper sofa, too. The property has a large lakefront with a sandy beach and nice sturdy dock. The kids loved swimming in the lake and collecting duck and goose feathers. We had our boat with us that we could tie up to the dock or onshore, and we loved roaming around the beautiful lake. The full front porch is where we spent our time when not outside.

The kitchen is just the right size – refrigerator, microwave, stove/oven, coffeemaker (but we used the grill outside for almost all of our cooking). The cottage is very clean and comfortable. Very nice place. We hope to come back in the fall to see the leaf color.

Cute cottage, wonderful lake views and private!

The property is on a very large lot secluded by maples and pines, shaded and has a long lake front, including a study redwood dock - a wonderful retreat from the city. The cottage was very clean and comfortable for the four of us, and it's right on the shore. We saw ducks and geese swimming by each day with their babies, and heard loons through the nights accompanied by bullfrogs in the evenings. The shore line faces the west, so the sun was on the beach from 10am to sundown, so everyone had a great time swimming all day or just floating on inflatable rafts tethered to the dock. We also saw sunfish and minnows. We'll definitely come here again next year, and I'm bringing a sailboat!

No swimming new hampshire
Review Submitted: May 27, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2007
Looks really nice, cute cozy cabin, However the water was Awefull for swimming ,(WISHED WE HAD BEEN TOLD)The kids all had blood suckers all over them, and when I walked in up to my knees and came back out ,it was like someone threw a bucket of dirt all over my legs,The water is very very dirty! I would not go back again.
Owner's Response: Southern New Hampshire's lakes may have silt float into swimming areas during the winter. On the right side of the waterfront is the swimming area and it does clear up if this happens. The water is good. Wild Ducks, Geese and Bass take care of the rest.
