COZY CONCH COTTAGE, OCEANSIDE DUPLEX, GREAT LOCATION/VIEW, DOCK, RAMP,

We spent Christmas week and the month of January here and highly recommend it. We have a small dog who thoroughly enjoyed chasing lizards in the backyard and growling at the pelican invaders from the dock. It is, by far, the most well equipped rental spot ever, and Marie is terrific to work with. You can walk or bike to the beach, the library, the store, to yoga, and to Dockside for happy hour. Speaking of the beach, Marathon should get some kind of award for Sombrero Beach. It is easily the best public beach we have ever visited. While the cottage is rather small, it certainly feels spacious and readily accommodated four of us and the dog when our daughter and her boyfriend visited. A real plus is Marathon itself. If you enjoy eating out on the water, this is the place. Dockside, Sunset Grill, Lazy Days, and the fish market and restaurant at the end of 35th St. Bayside come to mind immediately. And don't forget that just a few miles up the road at Key Colony Beach are Sparky's and Cabana Breezes. Our only issue at Mutton Manor were the noseeums. The little buggers really bite and bother in the early morning and late afternoon when I liked to fish from the dock. Long pants and sleeves and bug repellant are in order. Hope for a nice breeze and a little chill which keeps them down. Or, head back inside for a good book, a glass of wine, and playful banter with your spouse or whomever. Whatever, you can't go wrong.

We just finished a week at Mutton Manor and really enjoyed ourselves. Marie was very helpful during the reservation process and always responded to our inquiries immediately. The house is set up wonderfully with all the conveniences of home. The street is quite and peaceful. It was great to be able to bring our small dogs and they probably enjoyed the vacation as much as we did. I fished from the back yard each morning, took the kayaks out a few times and took our dogs for walks at the near by beach daily. There were also plenty of restaurants and bars close by, though we did take a couple of days and drive up to Islomornda and down to Key West. If you are looking for a great place to stay, I would deffinately recommend Mutton Manor. When we return to the Keys in the future, as long as there is a vacancy, we won't have to worry about spending time to do a search.

My family and I have vacationed and stayed throughout the keys from pop-up campers, bed and breakfast, motor/boatels, cottages of stilts and the Galleon in key West for the past 40 years and this Marathon rental house and location has met our family needs perfectly. For us our main goal is to lobster, fish (excellent) and spend time together in a very comfortable, accommodating, clean, beautiful view and my boat docked out back yard location and this place fullfills that goal.I would recommend this property to all my friends.
