A rare beachfront property! Two screened porches, master bedroom, and living room overlook a private beach. This Florida beach house, located on the exclusive north end of Casey Key, presents incredible views of sunsets and aqua waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Built in the 1940s by the owners' grandfather, this home has been extensively remodeled but has retained the charm & feel of old Florida. It is 100% solar powered as of October 2011. Feel good about where you are staying!

Walk five minutes over the 'Flying Bridge' to Blackburn Point Marina and Casey Key Fish House- great seafood! Sarasota and Venice with dining, shopping and museums are nearby. Take long walks and go shell collecting. Relax on your own romantic private beach. And every evening enjoy the famous sunsets.

Sarasota is a cultural hotspot: home to the world renowned Ringling Museum of Art, Ca d'Zan, Mote Marine Lab and Research Center, and Selby Botanical Gardens, the Van Wezel Performing Art Center, Florida West Coast Symphony, Sarasota Ballet, FSU Dance, Sarasota Opera, Asolo and numerous other theatres, galleries & concerts. Sarasota hosts a yearly Music Festival, a Jazz Festival, and a Film Festival. Busch Gardens, the Tampa Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo, Salvadore Dali Museum, Hands On Children's Museum, and the Tampa Airport are an hour away. About Casey Key: Casey Key is an 8 mile long barrier island located on the west coast of Florida about 15 miles south of Sarasota, a cultural center. The beaches are refreshingly natural, with protected wild sea oats and mangroves providing a protective habitat for the scores of native island birds that share the island, as well as the dolphins, manatees and other aquatic wildlife living just offshore. The majority of the island is a conservation district.

Services: House cleaning is scheduled for Saturdays at 10 am.

A gas grill is provided. Gas refills for the grill are available at the corner gas station on Blackburn Point, (over the Flying Bridge) if renters desire to use it. A charcoal grill is also available.

Great Beach Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this house on Casey Key. It has a very natural, heavily-landscaped yard, which gives privacy from some of the less naturally inclined neighbors - besides being on a wonderful beach, of course. The furniture is less than perfect, but we found that putting away some of the "extra touches" that the maids put out really improved the looks of the place. It could use some neatening up, however, with so many books just thrown up on the shelves etc. So all in all, I recommend this house but with the warning not to expect elegance, just a very nice relaxing visit.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car

Had enjoyable stay

Right on private beach. Miles away from public beach. Nestled among private residences. Modern home with all conveniences. Quick response friendly caretakers available to address any possible problem that might arise. On North end right off Blackburn Pt road. Minutes by car to Sarasota. Would definitely stay there again.

Heaven on earth!

Sun, Sand, and Surf - a little piece of heaven on earth! We sat on the screened in porch with our glasses of wine and enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets. Every year there is an improvement - two new bathrooms, and this year new furniture. The setup allows for privacy as there are two bedrooms on one end (with bath) and one on the other (with bath) - great for a this gramma when the kids come down. Nearby are wonderful seafood restaurants and shopping if you can tear yourself away from the beach.
Great!!!

Perfect getaway for our family of five!

We loved staying here on Casey Key. We have 3 little ones (5,3,1) and the house was very kid-friendly, including eye-hook latches at the top of doors to discourage wandering. Very close to the beach - you felt like you had the world to yourself. All the conveniences of stores, restaurants, etc. were just minutes away, including a Wal-Mart, invaluable to parents. The house had plenty of room and all the amenities we needed (with exception of a dishwasher, but who cares? The beach is footsteps away. We managed!!!). Would stay again in a heartbeat.
