This lovely, remodeled, antique farmhouse near Sylvester's Cove is the perfect antidote to today's complicated, hectic lifestyle. Situated on an interior lot with four private acres, the house is sheltered on the north by a grove of pines. To the south, lawns and a large meadow edged with old apple trees provide lots of space for lounging or playing. The views are pastoral (one house visible through the trees beyond the meadow), and the Sylvester's Cove beach is only a five-minute walk away. Life in the farmhouse is simple and relaxing. The spacious living room boasts comfortable furniture, a west-facing bay window, a sea chest full of games and puzzles, and lots of books. The sunny, old-fashioned, eat-in kitchen overlooks the meadow and the barn. For those who wish to bring a computer, we provide wireless DSL Internet access. Deer Isle has activities for every interest. The Island Country Club provides golf and tennis. The villages of Deer Isle and Stonington have art and antique galleries, shops, fine restaurants and cafes, and the picturesque waterfront of a fishing village. The Stonington Opera House offers a variety of plays, movies, and concerts throughout the summer. Other activities include biking, kayaking, boat trips to Isle au Haut and other neighboring islands, or off-island excursions to places like Blue Hill, Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert, or Camden.
