This property has easy access to one of Maine’s only sandy beaches! The beach is accessed from a 20 step stairway. Two Adirondack chairs await the comfort seekers on a platform at the top of the stairs. Swimming in the cold waters of Maine is always a challenge, but not at the Tree House. The water is warmer and there is sand instead of rocks. We have a kayak rack for 6 boats just beyond the high water mark. It is not necessary to drag or carry your kayak - just leave it at the waters edge until your ready for your next paddle.
The view is spectacular as you look south along the Penobscot Bay toward the beautiful village of Castine and the lighthouse at Ft. Point.
Convenient shopping, restaurants and groceries (in case you feel like cooking in the Tree House’s kitchen) can be found in nearby Bucksport, Searsport, and Belfast.
There are many other activities that can be enjoyed for the adventurous! There is plenty of hiking in Acadia National Park, or in the small park located less than a mile down the beach. Maine is famous for it’s blueberries and there are lots of sites where you can pick your own nearby! Sunset boat cruises, kayak rides, lobster feasting and even golf await you!
Come and see why Maine is known as Vacationland! You will never want to leave!
