Nature lovers will delight in this brand new (completed in early 2004), bright and airy 1 bedroom cottage surrounded by tall white pines on four acres all to itself. The cottage is located on a private road that parallels Mill brook, a beautiful stream which is near Norway drive. The cottage is about equidistant to both the Hulls Cove and Cadillac Mountain Acadia National Park entrances - literally in the heart of Mount Desert Island. There is a beautfiul trail - Acadian Ridge, that is a short walk from the property, as well as a gorgeous waterfall and refreshing swimming hole. The town of Bar Harbor is roughly 5 miles away. The cottage has lots of big windows, an open floorplan with a pull-out futon couch and gas-fired Jotul stove for heat on those chilly nights. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a large bedroom with a queen-sized bed and full bath (including tub). A skylight and 10x10 screened-in porch make the cottage feel even more spacious by letting the outside in.

Enjoy some of the best and most beautiful hiking the country has to offer on the numerous trails in Acadia National Park. The cottage is just steps away from the park boundary, including one little known trail - Acadian Ridge - that is a short walk from the property. That hike takes you through a white birch forest, crosses several gurgling streams and meanders through a sweet smelling cedar grove. A comprehensive guide of all the trails the island has to offer is available for your use while staying in the cottage. Lakewood, a large fresh water lake with a sand beach that is great for swimming is about 3 miles away. The Eagle Lake Carriage Roads, which include miles and miles of well groomed trails for bicycle riding, is a short 3-4-mile drive, as are both main park entrances, Cadillac Mountain and Hulls Cove. Bar Harbor is roughly 5 miles away, and has a wide variety of great restaurants, two movie theatres, and shops.

  • Pet charge of $25 to cover additional cleaning required. We require 1/2 of rent up front plus $300 security deposit. Balance of the rent is due 1 month prior to occupancy.
