Photos and Description of the Charlestown vacation cottage rental

Located on Ninigret Pond Charlestown RI, in the exclusive Arnolda colony, the cottage has 5 bedrooms, and stunning views. There is a dock and you can bring a boat. (Ninigret pond has access to the ocean.) Built into a hill, the house looks like a one story from the front but it is actually a two story. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, big deck and bath. The downstairs has three bedrooms, a bath and another living room. This is a great set up for families with older kids who want their own space or two families who wish to vacation together. Arnolda is a private colony that began in the early 1900's. It is known locally as the 'gold coast' because of the sweeping lawns and large estates that dot it's shores. We are one of the few waterfront properties available for rental. The house is not heated so we do not rent during the winter months.

Location: Rhode Island Coastal < Rhode Island < USA

There is a private tennis court you can walk to and a private beach that can only be accessed by boat. The beach is on the barrier beach that faces block Island. It is the last undeveloped barrier beach on the east coast and it is just gorgeous with a handful of people for miles, even on the weekends. Boats can be rented from the local marina. The town beach is about a 5 minute drive. The house is next to Ninigret Park which has walking trails, a wildlife refuge, basketball, tennis, soccer fields, observatory, playground and a fresh water pond. Although the town of Charlestown is a quaint and quiet town it has a thriving flea market on the weekends as well as other major events such as the Big Apple Circus, a seafood festival, Rhythm & Roots--check the Chamber of Commerce. There are several nice restaurants, shops, as well as art galleries. Charlestown is about a 30 minute drive from Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casino. It is also just a short drive from The Mystic Seaport and aquarium.
