Overview

Aticama Villa Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Attached Unit, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

"Villa Lo De Marcos" is a completely renovated, newly decorated, two bedroom, two bath home with private pool located in the quiet, laid-back village of Lo De Marcos, Nayarit just 12 minutes north of Sayulita and 40 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport. Located directly across the street from one of the most beautiful beaches on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, this lovely home has ocean and mountain views and is completely furnished with hand-crafted furniture by local craftsmen. The use of classic Mexican tile throughout the house gives it an old world charm. It is truly beautiful and practical.

In the kitchen you will find a gas stove and oven, coffee maker, microwave oven, toaster, blender, refrigerator, and bottled water for drinking and cooking as well as traditional, colorful Mexican dinnerware. We have provided our guests with plenty of colorful pool-friendly glasses and dishes so they may enjoy poolside dining and refreshments.

The master bedroom has a comfortable Queen-size bed. The second bedroom has two double beds. All beds have 500-600 thread count crisp white sheets, down comforters and duvets in pristine white. The living area has an additional twin day bed that is the perfect setting for an afternoon siesta or a full night's sleep. Plenty of closets and drawers are provided for our guests.

Ceiling fans keep the already cool house refreshed and air-conditioning is available during the very hot weather. Since we are situated right by the beach, the ocean keeps those breezes coming and this house remains cool even during the hot weather. Air-conditioning is rarely needed.

The patio and pool areas are breathtaking and our adjoining lot has recently been landscaped with some of Mexico's finest flowering shrubs and flowers. Something is always flowering in the garden and it is a pleasure to sit and admire nature's beauty.

You will find the upstairs palapa room a world of its own. Situated directly up from the main living quarters and in the middle of the upper deck level, it is a great place to read, nap, sun and enjoy meals. Climb the stairs with the bamboo handrails and you will be amazed at both the views and the pristine look of the palapa room and deck area. We have comfortable patio and deck furniture as well as two twin day beds to relax in during the day or to sleep in at night with the sound of the ocean waves.

The surrounding mountains are in view on the upper deck. Who can resist having morning coffee upstairs while the sun comes up over the mountains and the birds sing in the new day? You will never tire of the vistas.

The pool and downstairs patio area offer a refreshing respite from the heat of the day. Cold cervezas and guacamole poolside? You will have shelter under the roof or sit on one of the comfy chairs right alongside the pool. We have plenty of oversized towels and chairs for everyone to relax.

The villa is cozy, yet offers a large family enough room for everyone to enjoy privacy. Large bedrooms, open floor plan from kitchen to indoor living area, moving right out to the patio and pool, strolling upstairs to the ultra fabulous palapa and deck area. Every spot in the house is a haven!

Villa Lo De Marcos was designed to give our guests privacy and luxury without being stuffy. Mexican crafts and original artwork hang throughout the villa creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Villa Lo De Marcos is for the discerning traveller who seeks comfort, privacy and luxury. You know you deserve it!

Relaxing Vacation in Lo De Marcos

  • 5 of 5

Recently stayed 18 days in Villa Lo De marcos. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this lovely casa. The description and pictures accurately describe the property.Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, appliances. The place was very clean when we arrived and the housekeeper, Herminia, did an excellent job keeping it that way on her twice weekly visits. The pool and adjacent open courtyard were definitely a favourite spot where we spent a lot of time.

Lo De Marcos is a perfect spot for those wishing to get away from the typical busy tourist areas. The georgeous beach is only one block away and on many days we had it just about to ourselves. Locals in the town were very friendly and tolerant of our limited Spanish. The local restaurants were excellent and the many small stores supplied all our daily grocery needs.

Visiting other nearby communities was very easy and cheap using local collectivos and taxis. We considered renting a car for part of tour trip before arrival but after a few days we didn't see the need. Even traveled to PV for a day on the local bus.

Would not hesitate to recommend this accomodation and the Lo De Marcos area to anyone looking for a relaxing Mexican vacation.

Perfect little oasis

  • 5 of 5

This little house is a treat to stay at! We (me, my husband, and our two little girls -- ages 1 and 4) stayed for two weeks and had a fabulous time. It is safe, beautiful, and comfortable. The pool is delightful and we enjoyed it several times a day every day. The house has a great layout and there are lots of places to relax in. The kitchen is perfect and easy to use and had everything we needed to make our meals there. One of the things that I enjoyed were the iron gate doors that partition the living area of the house away from the pool area. The doors let the breeze come into the house, but keep the children in and safe away from the pool (perfect if you have little kids!). The house is very clean and decorated with rustic charm that makes each area of the house an enjoyable and relaxing place to be. One of my favorite places was the palapa room upstairs. We spent lots of time there in the evenings reading.

The house also has an excellent location and only has a very short walk to the beach. The beach is at Lo De Marcos is unbelievably beautiful. The beach is calm, quiet, and usually empty. We spent most of our time at the South cove where the waves were slightly calmer and we had the shade from the trees to relax under. We also took the little tour boat ride around and did some snorkeling off of it. It was well worth it! Gorgeous views!

Another fun thing to do is to ride horses on this beach at sunset. Lenny Parra (the horse guy) actually comes to your door with the horses and your sunset tour begins from there. So much fun!

We loved our vacation and would love to go back some day!

Villa Lo de Marcos

The house was as described in the ad. The housekeeper was a lovely lady, met us when we arrived and had water for us. She did an awesome job with the cleaning and washing.

The pool was kept clean and fresh for us to swim in.

Other than the neighbors dog that barked day and night until we complained the property was restively quiet. The sandy beach is long, clean and relatively people free.

The town is clean and friendly. Would like to go back.

Relaxing in Lo De Marcos

  • 4 of 5

We have been vacationing in Mexico for the past 25 years and for the last 10 we have rented homes on the Nayarit coast, Villa Lo De Marcos is one of the nicest!

The casa is well kept, nicely decorated and everything works – a rarity in our experience! We were staying for a month so it was nice to have a well equipped kitchen, good sized bedrooms and an indoor sitting area; amenities that made it a comfortable home as well as a beautiful vacation spot.

The courtyard/pool area is very private and is a great place to drink a Margarita and read a good book. It gets the sun most of the day so is perfect for getting that mandatory Mexican tan and the pool water was never cold. When you have had enough sun the covered patio area was just as pleasant.

At this time of year Lo de Marcos is a relatively quiet seaside town, the beach is great and the people are friendly. All the restaurants we tried offered a good selection of tasty Mexican cuisine at affordable prices but some of the restaurants were only open at the weekends

We “home cooked” much of the time and had no problems buying our groceries at the local stores. The Mangoes, Papayas and Pineapples are sooo tasty!

When we return to Lo de Marcos this Villa will be our first choice.

Amazing peaceful location and the friendliest town and host

  • 5 of 5

I surprised my beau for his bday, and this place couldn't have been more perfect. Maria was amazing from the start, giving me so much great info. We got to meet her during the stay and she couldn't have been nicer. Maricella and her daughter were so sweet and she even cooked us a meal upon our arrival that was the best of our stay. The home is gorgeous. So many great art details and just a relaxing spot to lay in the sun, read, jump in the pool, enjoy coffee or dinner. We loved the pallapa and even had massages up there one day. Felt completely safe the entire trip. The town is so cute. Very warm and inviting. Be sure to check out La Luna, the Italian restaurant in town. Make reservations. The owners are lovely. We rented a car and fell in love with San Pancho and Sayulita as well. Staying in lo de marcos was perfect. We got to come home to a quite peaceful place and take off to explore other areas whenever we wanted. I highly recommend! We can't wait to come back.

Hidden jewel!

  • 5 of 5

My family which includes myself, husband, daughter (14), son (11) fell in love with villa Lo De Marcos and the sleepy village in which it is located. Our days consisted of coffee in the morning either by the pool or up in the palapa room, then we would head to the beach. Words cannot describe how beautiful and relaxing the 2 miles of beach that literally is just steps from the villa. The waves were perfect for boogie boarding and body surfing, my kids had know issues with the surf, however they are very experienced swimmers. While at the beach my husband would stroll to one of the palapa restaurants on the beach for a $1 Pacifo!! When we were beached out we would head back to the villa and have margueritas pool side while the kids still enjoyed the sun and pool. We cooked most of our meals at the villa, shopping in the village was a fun experience by day 3 we had things figured out, the coolers in front of most of the markets have warm tortillas fresh from the tortilla factory, the fresh bread is amazing, all of the produce was fresh and delicious, the seafood market is in a gentlemans front room in 3 coolers the fish just brought in off of the pangas! The locals are very kind and willing to help but brushing up on your Spanish would be helpful. We were VERY sad to leave and are already trying to figure out when we can come back!
