Welcome to the warmth and rustic luxury of Cabot Shores, four-star Adventure and Retreat Center. Dr. Paul and his friendly staff will ensure that you enjoy the finest comfort for a rare experience with your friends and family.

Cabot Shores is a 55 acre private sanctuary, with all modern conveniences, breathtaking views, and a 2000 ft private beachfront. Nestled in this peaceful setting that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, you will discover a magnificent lodge, 4 chalets, and a selection of alternative shelters (yurts, tepee, and wigwams).

Whiff's Lodge has 7 bedrooms each with air conditioning, 4-piece private baths, and queen or double beds. Our cafe-restaurant offers fine dining and breathtaking views of the Bird Islands and their famous puffins. One of our suites is Barrier-Free.

In our chalets, you will enjoy the freshness of the native wood, the original art, the the openness of the kitchen, dining and sitting area. Each chalet is over 950 sq ft and can accommodate 2 to 8

They all have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, and utensils), ceiling fan, electric heat, and a TV and VCR. Relax and take in the spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean from the upstairs living room or while sitting on your covered deck.

Our alternative shelters are a unique opportunity to experience a different style of lodging in a beautiful wild setting. According to the culture of your choice you can spend a comfortable night in a yurt, a wigwam all big enough to host up to 6 people.

We also provide a variety of guest facilities including outdoor barbecues, shower facilities and coin laundry.

There is a restaurant serving full breakfast and dinner, with lunches packed by as well.

About Paul Weinberg

Your costs are Barbara and Dr. Paul. Barbara is an accomplished gardener, acupuncturist and vegetarian chef...Dr. Paul is a former "road warrior", teacher and psychologist, who now considers his doctorate in "adventure travel". He loves to hike with Barbara and their dog Cosmo, to yolo board and to jam on the blues harmonica and trombone.

We've traveled the world and found Cape Breton to be a unique, unspoiled and sacred place. We bought and renovated a farmhouse at Breton Cove in 2000 and then saw the property at Indian Brook where we saw the opportunity to build a special Resort and Retreat Centre, one where people can easily discover and create their favorite adventures.

The natural beauty of Cape Breton, the warmth and hospitality among its 3 main cultures all drew us to create Cabot Shores, where great stories and memories are guaranteed.

The Chalets are a Perfect Gathering Place for Two Familes, Two Couples or A Private Getaway like An Anniversary, Golfing Trip or Just Plain R&R

Year-round, you can choose from a wealth of activities including outdoor sports, nature awareness expeditions, and native cultural experiences. Canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, bird and whale watching, massages and acupuncture, and many other activities are available in Cabot Shores. You can create your own program at your own rhythm, or sign up for one of our all-inclusive adventures and retreats.

Cabot Shores is also a local hot spot for evening entertainment. Join us in Whiff's Lodge for cabaret-dinners, ceilidhs, concerts and dances to celebrate and learn about Cape Breton's culture and heritage!

Easily accessible and less than an hour drive from Sydney's airport, Cabot Shores is the ideal year-round destination - inside or out.

Golf: Cabot Shores is midway between two of the best rated golf courses in Canada, Highland Links in Ingonish and Bell Bay in Baddeck (see Golf digest)

We had a ball!

We were looking all over Nova Scotia for somewhere to host a family birthday party celebration. We were so pleased to find this gem, with an amazing lodge and these fantastic chalets. There were 40 of us and we danced all night and had a fantastic dinner, with a beautiful breakfast the next day. We had a ball! It was just so great.

The stars at night are just unbelievable...

Cabot Shores is so gorgeous, its always such a pleasure to be on the water and to have the water as a backdrop, being able to look out and see the water from our chalets. The stars at night are so unbelievable, they are so bright and thick and I so enjoyed watching the stars and hearing the peepers, what a great sound. We enjoyed a campfire last night. This is just a stunning location.

I felt like I was on the edge of the world here!

It's so absolutely stunning here, I felt like I was on the edge of the world in a way. Having the ocean right here just a touch away and these beautiful woods and the mountains, it just adds a sense of deep connectedness to the land and the spirit here. The big open sky, the stars at night....it just creates this really strong feeling of possibility of growth.
The lodge is so incredibly cozy and sweet, it really feels like home, just like you are hanging out in your own living room, you can really relax here.
