Description of Home Interior:
The second floor master bedroom has a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub. A second upstairs southen exposure bedroom has twin bunk beds and a double sofabed. The ensuite bathroom also has a washer and dryer. The first floor master bedroom has a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom.
The first floor family room can be closed off to be a fourth bedroom (queen sofabed). This room also has a piano, television with VCR, and a stereo system. The adjacent main living area and dining alcove overlook cultivated lawn and conservation land. Beautiful landscaping and perennial gardens compliment the natural terrain and a southern deck offers sunshine and solitude.
The lower level has an office with a large desk, telephone, printer and wireless internet. The media room has a large television and DVD player.
This home is equipped with central air-conditioning and has an automatic generator in the unlikely event of a power outage. . Call for description of furnishings.
The Neighborhood:
This home is in a superb location with proximitiy to the beach, Madaket harbor and a bike path. Walk to the north shore's calm water beach or bike (2 miles) to Madaket's south shore beach with heavy surf and magnificent sunsets. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly and there are two tennis courts available. Local in-season buses (at the end of a short street) go into Nantucket town every half hour.
Activities:
Water activities range from lounging at the beach to all kinds of boat trips (fishing, whale watching, sight seeing, etc), to driving on miles of beaches. High end boutique shopping for the landlubbers. Museums include the whaling museum, Maria Mitchell observatory and the historic commission's many properties. Cultural activities abound in the summer, the most famous being the Atheneum lecture series and the Boston Pops concert on the beach. Performances by local theater groups and musicians from around the world. World class restaurants for the nights when you are tired of grilling all that fresh fish. So much to do, so little time.....
