Private Waterfront Summer House

The North Fork of Long Island is a beautiful and unique area to visit. It has retained its rural charm and it's agricultural roots. It's hard to believe it's only 90 miles from New York City. During the summer months local fruits and vegetables are available at nearby farm stands. Fresh local seafood can be found at fish markets in nearby towns. To complete your meal, stop at a local vineyard to pick up a bottle of wine. All of this abundance is surrounded by water- Long Island Sound to the north, and the Peconic Bay to the South. You can even visit an island in the Peconic Bay; access to Shelter Island is via ferry from Greenport. Travel across Shelter Island to another ferry that will take you to the South Fork (aka The Hamptons) and Sag Harbor.

Our house sits on the waterfront of the Great Peconic Bay, with views of the South Fork and Robins Island. We have our own private beach, just steps away from the house. You may not want to go anywhere else as you can sit and look at the water from the house, the deck, the hammock or the beach. There are however many interesting historic towns and sites to visit. You may be lured away by the great restaurants that serve locally grown food. Don't miss the opportunity to get a delicious pie from Junda's Bakery in Jamesport! You can work up an appetite swimming in the bay waters, or walking down the beach. When the tide is low, you can walk to the Jamesport Town Beach where there is also a playground and marina.
