BEST DEAL IN CAMDEN: CHARMING COTTAGE, WALKING DISTANCE TO BEACH AND SHOPS

My husband and I and our dog stayed in the 1 bedroom cottage June through August 2010. The cottage was small and basic but comfortable, and the owner was onsite and very accomodating with any issues that arose. There is a nice yard area with decks on both cottages. Many evenings included other renters or the owners family eating dinner in the yard and enjoying the weather. Made for a very nice family atmosphere. We did not feel like visitors there; more like extended family. Perhaps the best feature is location. The cottages are on a quite street in a nice neighborhood less than 1 mile from Camden Harbour, the downtown area, and the beach. We walked to restaurants, shopping, the grocery store, post office, etc almost every night. It was wonderful. I walked the dog through one of the nicest neighborhoods in Camden every morning. Between the atmosphere created by the owner and the location, my husband and I felt like we had an excellent experience and have highly recommended the cottages to others.

We have stayed at both cottages and they are charming and extremely well appointed, particularly the gourmet kitchen equipment. The location is excellent and the walk to Camden is short and being a bit removed from the bustle of town is very agreeable. There is a lovely park down the road for dog walking, picnicking and swimming in the harbor. Camden has excellent restaurants and terrific shopping. We
especially liked Jane Alden for gifts and the Atlantic restaurant on the water. Camden's location is ideal for mid coast exploring and the town itself is beautiful.
The owner of the cottages is very available, pleasant and helpful and her grounds, with hammock and grills are just what you want for a great Maine vacation. I recommend Camden cottages without reservation.
