This cottage is located in a historic district, on a quiet street one block from downtown and within sight of the beach. Being situated on a large park creates a green, spacious, private setting. Nashawena Park boasts the best of both worlds - peaceful serenity, yet close proximity to the beach, harbor, and town. Built in 1874, the house was completely renovated in 2004. There is a spacious front porch with a double porch swing, a sun room with floor to ceiling windows, a comfortable living room, and a well-appointed kitchen separated from the dining room by a counter with stool seating. Upstairs are 5 bright, cozy bedrooms. There are polished wide-board floors throughout, and the house is tastefully decorated with antique and country furnishings. The backyard is shaded and private, and the stone patio is set with gas grill and table and chairs. A roomy, tiled, and well-lit outdoor shower is just outside the backdoor.

Nearest Beach: beach at 0.3 Miles
The house is 1/4 mile from Inkwell Beach, and minutes from countless other beaches. While situated on a large park itself, within one block of the house there are two other parks that offer a playground, basketball and tennis courts, and a baseball diamond. It is a 5 minute walk to downtown Oak Bluffs - Circuit Ave. and the harbor - where there are many shops, restaurants, and activities. The historic Methodist campground with its famous 'Gingerbread Cottages' is just a couple of blocks away. The house is just off of a scenic shore bike path that runs along State Beach to Edgartown, and a 5 minute walk from Farm Pond and forest walking trails. The best location on the island - you won't even need a car while you're here!

With a bluestone and mahogany floor and a stone tile wall, the shower also offers a foot rinse for sandy feet!. Not your usual outdoor shower.
