Cove House on Raccoon Cove is a great choice for your vacation. It is in a quiet and private location and has all the comforts of home. Cove House is an expansive log house with an open floor plan. Step in to two stories of windows with panoramic views of the Cove, Frenchman Bay and the mountains of Acadia. A dining area, kitchen, two bedrooms, and a full bath with laundry facilities, round off the first floor. French doors lead to the ample deck with a comfy porch around the corner. The second floor master suite, bath with large jacuzzi and separate shower, and a loft for chess and reading provide ample privacy. Enjoy the amenities the house has to offer and take advantage of the proximity to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor with its shops, restaurants and attractions. Ellsworth is 15 minutes away for groceries, library, DVD rentals, LL Bean. After a day of hiking, kayaking, shopping, exploring, and sightseeing, come back to the quiet and peaceful ambiance at Cove House.

In Ellsworth, 15 minutes away, visit the historic Black House Museum, stroll at Birdsacre Sanctuary, eat lobster at the Union River Lobster Pot, Jasper's Restaurant, or Ruth and Wimpy's located a few miles outside of town. Acadia National Park and The Cat to Nova Scotia are less than 30 minutes away. Have tea and popovers at Jordan Pond House after hiking or biking around the park. Kayak in the cove or launch your boat at Marlboro Beach and motor to Bar Harbor for the day. Two public golf courses are ten minutes away. Two others available on Mount Desert Island. Spend a day whale watching, deep sea fishing or take a guided kayak tour around the Porcupines. Spend the evening at a chamber concert or have a gourmet meal at one of the area's many restaurants. Take an evening sail on the four-masted schooner, the Margaret Todd and watch the sun set. There is so much to see and do! Enjoy Maine's natural beauty and its many attractions. Cove House has become a favorite place to return to for a number of our guests, and we are always pleased to have new arrivals tell us they'll be back next year. The cottage is equipped with everything you might need - from a blender to a bagel toaster, from a coffee grinder to a lobster pot. It is a quiet place to enjoy a pleasant stay, but in a matter of minutes, you can get to all the activities that make Maine the Vacation and of the country.

If you prefer golfing, horseback riding, visiting a winery or brewery, or taking an evening sail, just look it up in the many brochures and booklets at Cove House. If you prefer to relax and listen to the birds and the water, then we invite you to sit a spell on the porch, the deck, the granite outcroppings or the bench overlooking the water. Massages, hair and nail salons, restaurants, yoga, tennis club, are a phone call away. The children can get riding lessons and go to Bangor to visit the Discovery Museum.
