Great pet-friendly beach house

August 2010 was our first time staying, but hopefully not our last!
The owner is a pleasure to work with, and is very helpful answering questions. This house is as clean, bright, and spacious as the pictures show it to be. You never know with pics, but these are 100% accurate. There is one full bath and one half bath that are just fine, though maybe not as bright and new looking as the rest of the house. But no problems at all.
You walk down your own stone steps to the beach. At low tide there is tons of beach, at high tide you walk 8 steps to the right to still be on the sand. The water comes right up to your stone steps so you can dangle your feet in it.
Good things to know, that we didn't know:
The ocean-side AMAZING (though more populated) beaches are just a short drive away. We visited Cahoon Hollow Beach - can't believe this beach exists in Massachusetts! Chatham is about a 30 minute drive and Ptown is a little shorter than that.
Downtown Wellfleet is a short drive away, and has restaurants, some shops - but not too many, a quaint market to buy groceries and some already-prepared food in, and a fish market that has some of the freshest fish I've ever tasted. Buying food to cook was actually our favorite way to go - though we visited some amazing restaurants too. Next time I wouldn't pack any food and just buy it all there, much easier and readily available.
I never did see the beach chairs, so I'm very glad we brought our own.
There was some paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, dish & laundry detergent, kitchen condiments, etc stocked. The deal with these are if you finish something, buy some in town and replace what you used - not leaving the next person with none. So everyone shares the burden, and nobody has the whole burden. I think this is a GREAT concept, so long as people follow it, which it appears they do! I wish I had know this, so I wouldn't have packed it all!
Suggestions:
Have beach chairs stocked there, maybe 4-6.
Provide hand towels for the two bathrooms, bath and beach towels, and sheets for the beds.
It is so very hard to pack these bulky things, especially when trying to remember everything else one needs. It would really add so much to the value of the stay...
Overall this place is superb, the location is perfect, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone! You'll be VERY happy with your choice!
