Harper's 'Out Island Hideaway of the Year'. Caribbean like experience. First class 2.5 bedroom, 2 bath home in private Safety Harbor Club. A place from the past...the feel of the Caribbean, but much easier to reach. Upper Captiva (or North Captiva - even the natives can't agree) is vastly different than Captiva, its southern neighbor, and is accessible only by regular water taxi or private boat. Located in the central part of a 700-acre natural barrier island is Safety Harbor Club, which stretches from the waters of Pine Island Sound to the Gulf of Mexico, a distance of about half a mile. 'Tiki Central' is sited among the natural beauty of tropical vegetation, ideally located equally distant between the beach and the club boat wharf, close to the pool and tennis courts. Within minutes walk from anywhere in the Club is the Gulf Beach; three miles of sand beach and some of the best shelling in North America. Transportation on the island is by electric golf cart, bicycles or walking.
