Beautiful and relaxing
We just spent a wonderful week at this cabin, which sits on the eastern shore Great Sacandaga Lake. The view was unmatched, the water was warm (with no motorboats or jetskis anywhere near), and the cabin itself was spotless and comfy and had all the amenities. Joanna was an excellent host.
The property is a short drive from the village of Northville. The village offers a public library open 6 days a week, free live--and very entertaining--music Sundays at 5 p.m., a farmers market 2 days a week, and good restaurants in town, in Sacandaga Park (just across the bridge from Northville) and about 8 miles down the lake from the village. Also, as hikers we took advantage of the Northville-Lake Placid Trail, which begins a few miles from the village.
The first day we saw a young fawn on the lawn(don't worry; its mother was nearby) and I heard a loon calling in the early morning.
I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, or just getting away from the daily grind and watching the sun set over a lake.
