Seaview House Rental Photos and Description
House, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, (Sleeps 2)
This small studio cottage has charm, character and offers plenty of enchantment for one or two guests. Whether you're looking for a solitary artist's retreat or a romantic getaway for two, this cozy little spot by the Washington Coast is a great choice!
Walking inside, you're greeted with a tastefully decorated space, embellished with antiques and stylish touches throughout. The queen-sized brass bed has a lovely heirloom-quality quilt, bedside tables, and lamps with beautiful glass shades. There is also a small sitting area and a full bath. This home will comfortably sleep two guests.
The basic but functional kitchen has a refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, and coffee grinder, so bring those fresh-roasted beans! Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are a snap to prepare in this space and, although there is not a dishwasher, you'll find yourself creating delicious meals just the same. The cottage also has a TV with DVD and VCR, as well as a stereo and CD player, so you can watch your favorite movie or listen to music as you cook each night.
Outside there is a patio, garden, and a tranquil pond. Have a quiet moment with your morning coffee while you enjoy the fresh morning air. Beyond the nicely-landscaped yard, the town of Seaview, situated right on the southern end of the beautiful Long Beach peninsula, has almost 30 miles of beaches and numerous seaside towns to explore. From the cottage, it's only a few blocks to the shore, where you can hunt for shells, fly a kite, or spread out for a picnic on the sand.
The nearby Long Beach Boardwalk stretches out for about a half a mile and has picnic spots, interpretive exhibits and panoramic views. Just to the south sit hiking trails and the beautiful lighthouse at Cape Disappointment State Park, while Ledbetter Point State Park is on the northern tip of the peninsula for a lovely day trip.
Back down in Long Beach, a special dinner is only a short four block walk to Depot Restaurant: perhaps New York steak crusted with fig jam and Gorgonzola, prepared by a James Beard Foundation award-winning chef? If you crave more laid-back fare, the excellent Fort George Brewery is less than 20 miles south in ultra-charming Astoria, just across the impressive Astoria-Megler steel truss bridge crossing the Columbia River.
If you want the perfect getaway to escape the city for the peninsula, and the calm of a stroll along the beach, then Hummingbird Cottage is your place on the Discovery Coast!
