4-SEASON GORGEOUS WATERFRONT VIEWS OF MT. CHOCORUA

Ossipee Lake House Rental Photos and Description

3 inside bedrooms, 1.5 baths, one outside cottage, sleeps 10

This remodeled, open concept waterfront home with a cottage has stunning views of the White Mountains. Rustic hardwood floors, stone fireplace, and cozy furnishings create the ideal escape. A gradual-sloped sandy bottom waterfront awaits safe family fun. Hiking, fishing, boating, golfing, shopping, skiing, and snowmobiling provide four-season fun for the adventurous. Those seeking a more relaxed vacation can sit by the fireplace or in the shallow water soaking in the sun and panoramic beauty of the White Mountains. Fifteen minutes to King Pine Ski Center for an affordable family ski vacation. The home, the setting, location, nearby attractions, and views will not disappoint.

Our home is in a very comfortable setting with beautiful views, and is ideally situated for day trips to the mountains, the Coast, Portland, North Conway, or the upper North Woods. Many guests explained that they had planned multiple excursions but sometimes just wanted to hang out in Ossipee due to the nice relaxing atmosphere. The off season rental rates make this a great getaway for small groups of friends looking for a more intimate setting then a hotel. Many come to view the White Mountains during the fall foliage, And some guest bring their snowmobiles, skis, or ice fishing gear during the winter. This home can be a great escape for any season.

Suitability:
  • non smoking only
  • pets not allowed
  • children welcome

Guestbook comments from the owner

(Homeowner's Comment: This note was entered by our guest and is submitted verbatim) Our stay on Lake Ossipee this February was one to be remembered. Besides the fact that the weather was beautiful our accommodations were first class. The house was decorated very tastefully but comfortable. When we walked in the door and took our shoes off we didn't want to go back out to enjoy the NH winter weather which was why we were there. The kitchen area is the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal with all the amenities of a fine home and a breathtaking view to top it all off. I will seize the opportunity to stay there again when I get a chance. Summer or winter it is a perfect spot to relax. Thank you again!

Great Ski Vacation

  • 5 of 5
We spent our 2nd Christmas vacation at Mark's home and had another great time. Aside from the snow covered lake, great mountain views and cozy fireplace, we also had a great ski week. King Pine is 10-15 minutes down the road. They are a small mountain that is great for anyone. They also offer cross country skiing, snow shoeing, skating and snow tubing. After a day outdoors, we had fabulous dinners, nice wine and the kids slept great. We loved our week and look forward to returning next year

Owner's Response: Though most of our renters stay during the summer, our home makes a great winter retreat. King Pine is a great beginner mountain. Some guests snowmobile on the lake, others stay to ice fish, and most seem to enjoy their stay as much as the summer guests.

Highly Recommended For Families

  • 5 of 5
My family and I spent a week here and had all the comforts of home. We combined two families and had a range of ages from 2-50 and everyone enjoyed it.

The lake itself was warm, clean and shallow enough for my 2 year old to enjoy it. You can walk out quite a ways before it starts to get deep. Our teens liked paddle boarding and floating on rafts tied to the bouy.
There is no beach but the dock was great for hanging out and sitting by the water on.
The bottom of the lake had soft sand which was so nice for walking around in the water. This was especially nice for my little one.
There is also a fire pit outside which the kids loved making s'mores with and the adults enjoyed just as much.

The house: The beds were comfy, the kitchen is beautiful with granite counter tops, wooden floors and an amazing view of the lake and sunset. You can tell the owner makes every effort to ensure his renters are happy. The garage is filled with things like rafts, a canoe, wind surfer, life jackets and other lake toys.
The house is very well kept and spacious with an open concept. There were 10 of us and plenty of room for all of us. Having two bathrooms was very nice.
The kids appreciated bunking up in the same room and having their own bathroom and T.V. (though we barely used the T.V.) There were even some toys in the closet. There is also a little cottage apart from the house with a double bed but, we didn't use it.
The house is located on a very quiet dead end street. We scoped it out and think this has to be the street with the greatest views of the lake, mountains and sunset.

Hope to go back!!

Wonderful family vacation home

  • 5 of 5
My family and I,which included adult cousins and their children, really enjoyed what this lake house had to offer. The open concept provided a spacious area for us to gather for meal preparation, sitting around reminiscing and playing games in the evening. The bedrooms, including the detached cottage provided us with ample room to sleep comfortably. We especially liked the kids bedroom where at least 4-5 children slept and had fun together. We liked that the TV was in the kids room only which we rarely used since everyone was in the water or on the dock most of the time. The water is warm and shallow just like it was described. The dock, raft and deck are a great feature for this waterfront home. We had a campfire most nights and enjoyed the peaceful sunsets. We appreciated arriving on Sunday to find a freshly cleaned place with linens, paper towels and toilet paper. The kitchen is well stocked with new appliances. We used the grill every night and are thankful that we had full gas tanks available. The owner is very helpful and called us to be sure that we had everything that we needed. We traveled to Funspot on a rainy day and Storyland on our last full day which were under one hour travel time.

Great Winter Retreat

  • 5 of 5
This was our second winter stay at this home. Love the views and proximity to King Pine. My two young daughters loved the tubing- a mere 15 minutes away. We even cleared the snow off the ice in front of the house for a little skating on the lake. Sure beats returning to a hotel room after a day of fun in the snow!

Missing the amazing view

  • 5 of 5
This was our first time renting Mark's home on one of the most beautiful picturesque lakes around. I spent quite some time searching for the perfect spot for my family. And I must say this was everything I was looking for. Mark's home has the most amazing kitchen not only in size but the views with windows all facing the water was spectacular. We were there for the 4th of July and fireworks were going off all around the lake. I wish we rented for 2 weeks, somehow 1 week is not enough. Thanks again Mark we enjoyed your home.

Always a good time

  • 5 of 5
I've been visiting the Geppert's fabulous lake house twice a summer/fall for the last 6 years, And never once have I been disappointed in any way shape or form...My group are all in our mid to late thirties, And either are married or have kids and have managed to break away from our hectic lives for what has become an annual tradition...The house is great in every way..From the location to Mark's present neighbors...As far as dealing with Mark it has always been a pleasure, And he always makes sure everything is top notch...I am far from an avid fisherman, But the fishing is good..I caught a pike from the shore...There is so much to do on a daily basis..Water is shallow for like 100 yards from shore so your children are more than safe...I would highly reccomend this lake house...Would I of gone 10 times in six years if it wasn't worth it.

Lake Ossipee is quieter than the bigger lakes in New Hampshire with exceptional views of the White Mountains. The lake is an hours drive from Portland, ME, and the Maine Coast, and 45 minutes to North Conway. Most of the visitors spend the vast majority of their time enjoying the amenities of the lake itself yet numerous day trips to the attractions of the White Mountain and Lakes region gives a lot of options for guests of all ages.
