Relax, enjoy our totally remodeled and redecorated home on the Isle Of Palms.
This home was built in 1983 and was one of the very few homes that sustained no damage from Hurricane Hugo in 1989, even though we are only 2 blocks to the ocean. We lived in the house at that time and were one of only a few families that could return to our home as soon as the Ben Sawyer Bridge was set back into place. We have been through a lot together, so we thought it was time for a total update.
In 2003, we started by gutting the house completely. We moved walls and plumbing to make a large master bath, all marble with a large Jacuzzi tub and a large, marble walk-in shower. We started over in the second bath too. It is also marble with double sinks, granite countertops and a large marble shower with bench. The kitchen also is totally new, with granite countertops and all new black appliances. We finished it off with all new trim, paint and wallpaper, as well as new carpeting and all new furniture, earlier this year.
Location, location, location! The location of this home is perfect. The house is just 4 blocks to the bridge to Mount Pleasant, 2 blocks to the beach, 3 blocks to ocean front shopping and restaurants. Mount Pleasant Towne Center is just 5 minutes away and is a large, upscale shopping area, complete with movie theater, restaurants and more shops than you can imagine.
It is a very unique, new/old shopping area. It is reminiscent of old downtown areas laid out in squares. Mount Pleasant Shem Creek area, 10 minutes away, has fine restaurants overlooking the shrimp boats on scenic Shem Creek. Historic Charleston is only 20 minutes away. What can I say about Charleston? It is the reason we moved here 18 years ago. It never loses it's charm. We still are in awe every time we go downtown.

Here are some comments from our guests in May 2008:
I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our vacation. The house was perfect and I fell in love with Charleston! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. If we ever head that way again I hope the house will be available!
Our stay was wonderful - much needed relaxation. When we weren't doing the tourist thing we pretty much lived on the porch- lots of talking and reading. I think we only turned the TV on three times (for the news). There was a delightful breeze the whole week. Your house was wonderful- loved the kitchen and baths. Next time we are that way we will definitely stay there again.
Thanks so much,
We are a family of four. My husband and I own this home. Our two small children love it, and I hope to keep it long term so that our family can continue to spend time here.
The location is fantastic. Its easy to find and makes it really convenient. If you want to head downtown, you are approx 3 blocks from the IOP connector that takes you back to Hwy 17. You are approx 2 blocks from the beach, across the street from the intercoastal and within walking distance of the shops/restaurants of Downtown Isle of Palms.
Upgrades Galore! This is not your typical rental. Home has been remodeled and has marble/granite throughout the kitchen, baths and wet bar. The master bathroom has dual granite vanity, jetted tub, huge walk in shower with tile and a big walk in closet. It really feels like home. The family room has a palm ceiling fan, vaulted ceilings and two skylights. The kitchen in lovely with tile and granite - along with a washer and dryer. The 2nd bath has tile and granite with dual sinks and a big walk in shower. The wet bar is solid surface too with mirror behind. Did I mentio the decorating? The folks that decorated this home are interior designers, so they have excellent taste and it is reflected in this home. There is also a two person outdoor shower that is wonderful for getting all the sand off!
