We have been visiting Lanzarote for over 15 years and love this area and, specifically, this complex. We love to visit year round and do a lot of scuba-diving as there are numerous diving schools and sites all over the Island.
The views from the apartment speak for themselves. When we walk through the door and see the beautiful sea views we always feel relaxed. We love sitting on the terrace in the evening sipping a glass of wine and watching the lights of the Old Town harbour come to life. As a large part of the terrace is covered, even when it rains (and it does occasionally!) you can still sit outside, and if it is a bit chilly there are throws in the cupboard for a little extra warmth!
Lago Verde apartments are in a quiet area but with excellent facilities a short walk away. Restaurant La Bamba is a favourite as well as Marios for what we consider to be the best pizzas on the island. The harbour area, 10 minutes downhill walk, has more of a 'local' feel with plenty of restaurants. However for more excitement there is 'The Strip' with bars, restaurants and late night clubs. We always find time for a night out at Ruta 66 for cocktails and dancing. Taxis in PdC are numerous and cheap.
The island has a variety of interesting places to visit including Timanfaya National Park. This is an amazing phenomenon created by volcanic eruptions over 250 years ago. In the north of the island you can visit Cuevas de los Verde, which are lava tube caves and tunnels made by lava flows from a nearby extinct volcano. Cesar Manrique’s museum is also worth a visit and his sculptures can be seen around the island.
The sandy beach of Playa Chica and the Old Town harbour (10 minutes walk) both offer scuba diving excursions. Parasailing, jet-skis, deep-sea fishing, boat trips and a submarine trip are all available locally. There are also two Go Karting tracks and a newly opened golf course within easy driving distance of the apartment. Cycles can be hired locally and excellent off road routes exist to test all fitness levels. Coastal walks are also available as well as horse and camel riding and quad bike safaris.
The Old Town Harbour area comes alive at night and offers a variety of bars and restaurants and children's play area. Live music and late night bars can be found along The Strip in the 'New Town' area - a short taxi ride away. The Biosphere also offers excellent clothes shopping opportunities!
