Perfectly Maintained and Updated!: We are constantly upgrading and maintaining our home so that it is perfect for every parties arrival. Our home was professionally decorated in late 2004 and has recently (October 2007) had a new kitchen installed , new master bath (Spring 2012), new patio furniture bought and new ceiling fans added. Top of the line furnishings and bedding were used through out the home. It is set up for our personal use not as a rental home. All of the amenities of home are there (beach chairs, bicycles, beach umbrellas, kayak, fishing rods, beach towels, etc.....)

Awesome home on the Island

This home was awesome. We had a great time, spent most of it in the pool. It has a great location and there was plenty of things to do like bike riding and kiacking. The bed rooms, master and second had nice areas to walk out to the pool. Will be back next year.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this property and we didn't want to leave. So much so, we extended our trip from 12 from days to 17 days a couple of days before we were supposed to depart. Thank goodness the house was available and the owner gave us a deal we couldn't pass up This is the 2nd time we rented from this owner. Last year we stayed at his Lamplighter house, which is great as well.

The owner and management company were very responsive to our emails.
When we initially arrived at the house the wireless internet unfortunately was not working. I contacted the owner and immediately received a response from him as well as the management company. The owner authorized the management company to purchase a new wireless modem...they even came on a sunday to install it. I know previous reviewers mentioned issues with the internet as well.....no worries, that concern has been resolved. The wireless internet works perfectly now. We had no issues for the entire time we were there.

The house looks just like it's pictures. It was clean and had everything we needed for our vacation. We cooked most of our meals at home, and ate while sitting outside on the lanai, looking at the fabulous view of the canal and pool. Speaking of the pool...it was great to have access to our own private heated pool It came in handy as some of the days it got a bit cooler.

We went to the beach a few times, the house has a few umbrellas, cooler, beach chairs and even a beach wagon to help schlep everything to the beach. The house is only a 5 minute drive to the south beach parking lot and is convenient to everything on the island.

This home is definitely not your average rental home that is sparsely decorated and with amenities skimped on. You feel like you are in a real home that was professionally decorated with extreme attention to detail.
We could not have asked for anything more and would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a great vacation rental on Marco Island. Thanks again for everything Carter. Hopefully we will be back again next year!

Wonderful home! Would rent again!

Our stay in Marco Isand was absolutely wonderful, much in part to this home. The house is set up for maximum comfort. There were plenty of dishes, towels, and beach accessories. We used the bikes and fishing poles as well. The heated pool was the icing on the cake. The kids swam every day. I enjoyed the pass through window on the kitchen as well. I could watch the kids swim while I was cooking, then just pass it through to the table by the pool. If I had one complaint it would be that there were a number of bulbs that were burnt out, but I found a few spares in a closet and changed them. There were also a few minor issues we found with the cleaning prior to our arrival, but again nothing major or worth complaining about. Overall, this was the best vacation we had. The day my kids enjoyed most was the day we spent at the house doing whatever we wanted. I will rent here again. It was a little more to rent than I wanted to spend, but well worth the price. We will be back.

Nice house, well decorated and very clean - Good location, good amenities

Overall, we enjoyed the property. We were two couples with three children under 2 between us and the layout of the house worked well for us and was relatively "safe" for small children. No stairs, good locks on the doors to the pool, not a lot of "breakables" or dangerous (for kids) furniture. The house is nicely decorated. The master bedroom and bath is especially nice. The "guest" bath needs updating, but is functional. There was a bonus bunk bed room that wasn't pictured that my 2 year old thought was pretty cool. The pool was great and we used it daily. The sliders to the pool from the bedrooms was a nice amenity too. The kitchen seemed to have everything you would need to cook, although all we did was make coffee and toast. There was beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes, even a kayak in the garage. We only used the beach umbrella, but it was nice to have those things available to us. The house is in a nice location and a quiet neighborhood. The only thing that was irritating was the rule that you are given one roll of toilet paper, one roll of paper towels and one garbage bag for your visit and anything additional would need to be purchased on your own. Given that we had kids, we clearly went through more than this and had to go out and buy these things ourselves, which seemed a little chintzy to us. We did have problems with the Wi-fi, which I think my husband was only able to get functioning one day for a few hours. The compter there, we could never get it to turn on. Also, there were DVD players in some rooms with the TVs, but they weren't plugged in and not hooked up to the TVs. I felt like the wifi/dvd issues weren't a big deal because it was not a necessity, but it would have been nice if they had worked. Overall, I would recommend this house and think we got a fair deal. The delivery driver from the place we rented a crib from said it was one of the nicer maintained rentals on the island.

Met Expectations

This was our first trip to Marco Island and we were very happy with the rental. The listing accurately depicts the house and all of the additional features provided. We particularly enjoyed using the 2-person kayak, fishing poles and bicycles. Yes, some of the bike were not new, but they all worked and this is a rental unit. Pool was great with no issues.

There were a few items that were a bit of a nuisance:

The screen door out to the dock always slammed shut. Yes, you figure out how to 'help' the door close quietly, but this should be a simple fix.

The mater bedroom's sliding patio door and kitchen window were a bit difficult to easily close and lock. Again, not a huge deal, but you is was a bit frustrating the first day when I had to play with the patio door to be sure it was locked before we left the house.

Same thing with the front door...it would not latch when the door closed unless you turned the doorknob....a nuisance, but should be easily fixed.

Last, the sliding glass doors in front of the washer/dryer were not secure on the bottom tracks. If you pay attention to the doors when opening and closing, it was not an issue, but with a bit of attention, this should be easily corrected as well.

At the end of the day, we were very happy with the house and I only point out the few items above to make this excellent rental even better.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed our home. We have 5 bikes and a tandem bike at the house (we keep the older 2 bikes just in case a tenant breaks one of them then there is a back up). The little items have already been addressed by a handyman. Again, glad you enjoyed your stay and the use of the 2 person kayak, bikes, fishing from the dock and pool (new heater and resurfaced 2/18/13).

Our home is set up with every amenity in mind. We maintain our home on Marco as a primary residence meaning that maintenance is not differed and things are kept in top condition. It is a lot of work but we enjoy our home! Kitchen was installed October 2007, new patio furniture, new ceiling fans, etc. There is a king, in master bedroom, 1 queen in guest room #1, and 3 twins (trundle) in guest room #2, 1 sleep sofa.
